I prefer a staff member text me when theyre sick. I dont wanna hear their fibs, sounding like they are on their death bed. If it's a regular thing/problem, I'll address it in person. Not gonna change anything at the time though.

I probably wouldn't appreciate someone texting me that they're sick. I'd expect a phonecall.

all flight related:
1) when i check in online how come there was only 8 seats available for my choosing?? there was more than 8 empty seats on the flight and i highly doubt everyone web checked in.... in fact when i think about there is usually only about 10 seats available when you web check in....
2) why do i need to have the window flap up when landing?? the only thing i can possibly think of is to avoid people getting a shock when landing but that seems awfully precious
3) why do (able bodied) people get on the flat travellator and then stand and ultimately end up moving slower than if they just walked like normal

probably belonged in the "things that shit me thread" more than this one... an airport is about the only time i walk fast.Laziness. I only go on it so I can walk super fast, because I'm super childish. Worse still, I'll get on it while its not moving and pretend I'm moving faster than everyone else

happy with explanation for the window flap being up.
still reckon there is something weird with the online check in and choosing your seat. i can't imagine all bar about 10 or so people chose their seat when booking their ticket. i think now it costs 10 bucks each way with jetstar.
interesting. never noticed. will have a look next time i book flights.
i would've thought that'd hurt jetstar in regards to delays as they will normally wait around an extra 5-10 minutes for people who are checked in but don't turn up to the gate.
whereas if everyone that has checked in is on the plane they can get out a bit quicker...
2. Safety thing, if there's a crash on landing you (or more importantly the cabin crew/tech crew) need to be able to see outside the plane for fire/potential hazards so people don't evacuate straight to death.
.
This may be part of the reason, but the major point is, so the flight attendants don't have to. Same with tray tables. If everyone fixes their own, it takes less time to turn the cabin around to be ready to fly out again (I know some planes here in Canberra have about 15 minutes turn around between one lot of passengers coming off, and the next lot boarding).
Yes by choice.Qantas makes short turnarounds here, and they are not a low cost carrier.
I'm trying to source the photo published on page 5 of the Herald Sun but I can't find it anywhere online.
Pls help. Imaginary reps.
Ah, nah, not that keen to buy it, was just interested in posting it on Facebook. It's a cracker of a photo. It's a photo of the finish of the Melbourne Cup and the crowd is in the background. In amongst the crowd is a guy dressed up as Where's Wally.
If the photographer actually meant it, I'm willing to go so far as calling them the best photographer of all time.
