How come today Tuesday 14/4 Adelaide members have a pre sale of showdown tickets and Port members have to wait to Friday17/4?

I am a 11 game season ticket holder and memeber and in the past for a home showdown have tried to purchase a extra ticket and was told that Crows members have first priority as Port members have already had a chance to buy a ticket via being a season ticket holder. Why is that not the case today?

I will be on the road to Melbourne on Friday to watch the boys against the Roos so wont be able to get them then.........grrrr!

because they have look after their customers 1st. Just like we would look after our fans 1st at our home showdown.

This would be an AFL decision, surely. As long as our supporters get first dibs on tickets for our home showdown I'm personally not that fussed. Seems odd though.

The Crows customers already have seats, as in there 11 game season ticket holders. If you are a member without a season ticket you have already given up the chance to have a seat at this game once. That is how it has been explained in seasons passed and therefore Port members get the next opportunity to get tickets.

As mentioned above, as long it's the same rules for our home showdown, then there is nothing to worry about.

Why the three days? I understand the priority for the home team but I should have thought it would be open slather after 1 day.

But then, so long as we get three days.

I get that but my point was more why is a 3-day priority period needed? Surely if non-seated cows members want to go to the home showdown they won't be hanging around to get their tickets, they'll want to be in as soon as possible.

Ah! Yep I am with you now.

My point is that non seated Cow customers should of upgraded to a seat at the beginning of the year and Port members should have first dibs at getting a seat. That is how it used to be.

Same thing happened last year with the March Showdown at AO. Our members had access all day on 11th March 2014 to upgrade general admin tickets and get any guest passes available. Do a google search Critical Showdown Ticketing Information - its a PAFC website article dated 6th March 2014.

This from a heraldsun article last year :

Until MARCH 7

Showdown ticket can be secured by buying Port Adelaide’s 11-game season ticket with reserved seat.

TUESDAY, MARCH 11

Port Adelaide’s 11-game general admission, three-game, country and interstate members can upgrade their packages to claim a reserve seat.

WEDNESDAY, MARCH 12

Tickets - perhaps no more than 6000 - on offer to Crows members. Of the 48,047 Adelaide Football Club members, only those with Adelaide Oval membership and those who buy general tickets will get access to the Showdown.

Pre-sale priority to Port in 2014 was for one day only. I hope the reason that they have made it 3 days this year was because they found the 1 day priority was insufficient and that we get the 3 days when we host this years' showdown.

Port Adelaide pre-sale is up to 20 April. You'd be unlikely to get one that late but you should be able to get access to a computer somewhere in the Vic market when you get there. Remember to take your member ticket barcode number.

I will get someone to get them on the Friday while I am travelling. Was under the impression that I would be able to get them today.

Just a quick note to let anyone who has bought away tickets (2) but can't subsequently make the game, I am on the lookout for my cousin whose son is playing in the Auskick at half time.

She reminded me very close to the member presale close and owing to the nuances of the site, purchase rules and trying to find 2 together, my credit card payment missed the 5pm deadline.

Why they don't run the presale right up to the public sale I don't know.

Anyway I had plenty of time from Friday.... I appreciate thems the breaks.....but if you're looking to on sell at face value or thereabouts pm me.
