Soft spot for Brisbane
Think the picking has to be different this year with so many extra competitors.

By pick 210 last year you would have filled your quotas for every position.

This year you get to pick 200 and you still might need an extra KPD and KPF, so you reach before you're left with zilch.
Exactly. Getting caught without coverage in talls would be a quick way to have no chance in the game.

And it's much harder when you have or are close to the tumble. If a run starts just after your second of two picks, there's 40ish picks that can result in you missing out on a position altogether.

In some cases some players were picked well above actual value purely out of the trend of picks. Ive noticed this game several times has jumped into feeding frenzies of certain types of players as people get worried about missing out.
Happens every year. Still fun to watch though, as the panic sets in.

just really a comparison of some picks taken earlier. He is no mug and is a renowned premier goal kicking mid.
Always struck me as a really good B player. An A- player on his day. Just feels really vanilla.

Although, it's pick 224 or whatever. In an 18 team competition (i.e., real life), that's about the 12th player picked... and he'd be in Port's best 12 without a problem... so it's probably a good pick, but i refuse to believe he's A-grade (which gets thrown around way too much anyway)

I'd like to properly introduce the latest player to the David Noble's Noble Davids family

Pick 228: Jake Lloyd (Sydney)

Here's what David Noble had to say:

"Jake is an outside midfielder who averages a lot of inside 50s and rebound 50s, and a lot of uncontested possessions. He gets a good 25 touches a game, which is more than some other midfielders including a personal favorite (guess who?). He will slot well into a wing for us as an accumulating outside player with neat disposal. Also, he's like 12 and has a high midi-chlorian count. He might even be the Chosen One. Welcome to the black and orange"
