Ayres fined

As a result of an altercation between Ayres and a spectator during the demons match he was fined $7500 today.

$2500 was the amount incurred as a result of the melbourne incident and the other $5000 was a result of a suspended fine during the geelong early in the year.

And of course the wacker that provoked him gets off scott free as did the looney at Geelong.

How do we "punish" these people in the future:confused:

Some say the coach should leave the box and go to the bench with "x" minutes to go in the game

I reckon the guards escorting the coach thru the crowd should have the authority to either arrest the perp or better still stencil spray his forehead with "neon" dye that wont wash out (a bit like the stuff that explodes in a bank safe and marks them for days) with the word ...

D I C K H E A D

not that he cant afford to pay the fine, but he really didnt deserve to get the fine cos he was provoked both times. when will the AFL realise that they cant keep punishing the innocent ppl and leaving the trouble-makers run free with no punishment wat so ever

I agree he shouldn't have been fined. I think the one that provoked him should have got a fine then maybe it would stop this kind of thing happening when there are consequences.

It's very pious for the AFL to stand there, allocating fines and saying 'these things just shouldn't happened' ... at the same time as doing ABSOLUTELY NOTHING about it.
