He also has time to write crap on here. Surely to old for that? Yesterdays man - and that is being v.generous

maybe so but at least (1) he contributes here (2) you friggin read it.

Why don't you start contributing something of value?

These ammo threads are just full of snipers sitting on the wings with the old adage "long time reader, first time contributor".

OM's should win the B grade flag and deserve too, by far the best team we have played this year - OM's v SKOB's GF. Will be a cracker of a game this week down at Boss James, hopefully our boys can get over the line. In a perfect world we would have a draw and both potentially stay up!

A drawn result could mean both potentially go down. A draw wouldn't be favourable to Ormond. Carey have a superior percentage. They'd have to cop a decent hiding to fall below Ormond. Full points for wishful thinking though. The game needs district clubs competing in the top grades.

Was anyone down at NOrth Balwyn on the weekend. Looked like a cracking final quarter from SKOB... Ben Dowd cutting them up again?

Can anyone ever recall a final round of VAFA home & away football in which everything is still not resolved-double chance, finals spots, relegation? Be prepared to see mobile phones & Twitter updates go into meltdown come 4.45pm, this Saturday.

Dowd had a great second half as did the rest of the team. Wellers played very well in the 1st half especially 2nd qtr kicking 5 goals against a howling gale. Credlin was a nice surprise and marked very well. Down by 28pts at 3/4 time and to get up was a big effort by SKOB.
Wellers have to be a chance against OH if they play like that again. OT's look like they had a fair win from behind as well to all but cement 4th.
Sets up a cracking final round - Jascave Tweets flowing around left right and centre.

Thanks TP. Bring on the Bernards.

Excellent summary Tutto.

I thought the two goals into the breeze at the start of the third were pretty significant as well.

Very good game of footy. HR had plenty of the ball, just kept turning it over at half forward all the time and OM's kicking to targets and marking was spot on all day.

Wouldn't mind being down at Boss James myself CC, work commitments will probably prevent that.

stuff work otp, get there!:D

What is the story with Credlin. Read in the Ammos mag recently that he was a prominant rep player. When did he retire? How old is he? Bold move and good on him for pulling on the boots i guess. Maybe he will be the saviour next week??
What are others thoughts? Is it ok for Camb to do this? Or is it a little silly, with him, Kingsley, Hilton, Tallis and co set to retire and maybe it is better to play kids and regoup in years to come in a grade more suitable to players of there younger guys standard?

Credlin played Club 18 this year, is a gun. He broke his hand and had a pin in it this week, so officially retired again and wont be the saviour.
I would play the old guys because they have a problem at Camberwell where the under 19s all want to play together to win a premiership. Thats why they are in this position as the 19s refused to play until the club forced them too. Understandable for both parties but the reality is it may have cost the club its place in B Section and all of those lads will most probably now donk around C Section for a few years.
I hope certain people are happy with what they have done to that club after all of the work the previous coaches have done to reach B Section.

Good post Brian. I guess it is a hard one with the under 19's. They do not bleed Old Camb yet, and it is hard to begrudge them wanting to play in a GF team together. Hard for them to do it in the AGS, so hard to deny it in the Ammos. A love for the old boys is only acheived over many years. They are still kids fresh from the school. When they are 100 game players in D-Grade for Old Camb and they could have their time again, most may choose differently. But not now!!
If Mixfish is the coach of the unders then good luck to him for having a committed and solid team.

there is no doubt that the would be hungry for a premiership with their mates, but in fairness 7 unders have played up during the year with a couple playing upwards of 7 or 8 games. i would expect that that is more than most clubs.
i know all clubs have this problem but i think injuries were a huge factor in old camberwells season losing partington lord hilton hazell so early on and kingsley in and out, having said that though, some new recruits have certainly been valuable.
in terms of the best players of the year, havnt seen much of a couple of teams, but loxley, ramsden, voss all very good when i had the chance to see them.

Mixfish isn't the under 19s coach I dont think, not sure who Mixfish is but he's a twad.
Partington is a gun, and injuries have been bad but most AFL blokes who come back are normally limited in their output because of the wear and tear on their bodies.
Can still stay up if they win this week, I hope they do, Cramer is a good fellow as are Loater and Ziggy and OH are'nt playing for anything, unless they win by 150 plus points.

I agree they can win. But i think Carey will win as well.

I've never heard of people blaming the u/19's for the senior side dropping a grade! If the seniors rely that heavily on u/19's then they are already in strife! What a cop out... why wouldn't the under's want to win a premiership with their mates...

you are a muppet Brian..

You have no idea Hater, no idea. WTF has happened to your club this year???

That comment doesn't do anyone any favours.

We were in the exact same boat 10 years ago and it did nothing to change the course of our clubs fortunes - if anything they were fortunate enough to play in a C Section flag 2 years later and have a crack at B Section which we ultimately weren't good enough to stay in. The majority of the more senior players in the current side are those kids that wanted to play in an U19 flag with their mates 10 years ago. Their decision back then has been in no way to the detriment of the club today.

All excellent points fellas, this debate happens every year because of the fact that we relegate 2 teams instead of one, a great system yet at the same time an unfortunate scenario for the teams who stare that reality in the face.
SKOB were on the verge for the for the last few years and I know it isnt fun.
One only has to look at St Bedes Mentone, Old Brighton and Collegians for inspiration that C Section can be a great launch pad back up the grades, good luck to all and sundry this weekend.

So, to tips this week, what a massive week! I notice the snow dogs posters are very quiet in the run up to the JOC cup, as are most other clubs.
Here are mine:
SKOB
OH
Hampton(sorry Bedford)
OM's
OT.

The great thing about this weeks games is that one of the district clubs coming up from C Section will survive, a great effort in it's self.
