Rovers poor bayside relations to SBMT? ha. Maybe if the Rovers MERGED with TWO other clubs and were spoon-fed the best school-side going around at the time (from St Bedes), then they would have gone on to win an A grade flag as well. Instead, the Rovers do it by themselves, and do it quite well, as a district club. Proud of it also. Hampton Rovers won an A Grade flag well before SBMT or any other club in the area for that matter did.

Cardio, do you think the Rovers give a crap the mighty Hammers got council funding? They can stick to their division 3 SFL. At least when work is carried out at Boss James, the club won’t be kicked off for a year. And just compare the facilities will you. And also, do you think the club was concerned it lost a handful of reserves players to the Hammers? FYI – the club also fielded a Club XVIII team this year and we weren’t short for players on one occasion. In fact, the senior section of the club had record numbers this year.

Anyway, I’m glad you love coming down to Boss James Reserve and watching the Rovers so often. Feel free to come in for a beer following a game and enjoy the friendly atmosphere, everyone’s always welcome.

And in regards to your other question – no I didn’t get a tattoo last year for the Hawks premiership, I did in ’89 though.

I think you will find that St Bedes merged with one club that being Mentone who probably would not be around today if the merger had not taken place. And yeah they were spoon fed a great side, pull your head in. All they have done is work harder than us and multiple times harder than you guys.

1. Stick to the C grade thread champ.
2. Check your facts: they merged with three clubs (yes, one was junior club only, however it's still three clubs merged to one): St Bedes OCFC, Mentone FC & Mentone JFC.
3. That particular school side at St Bedes was the best in Victoria.
Anyway, good on them! They've done extremely well over the past few years and I congratulate them. Not what this thread is about...

I wouldn't think St Bedes are on their Pat Malone getting players from their school. Is this a new concept to the Ammo's??
Wouldn't be like having a junior club associated with a senior club??

I will post when I want where I want and what I want. Check your facts Mentone Junior Football Club is the same club as the senior club.
This direct from their website champ:
St Bedes / Mentone Tigers A.F.C. was formed in 1993 from an amalgamation of three clubs. St Bedes O.C.F.C. who were affiliated with both the V.A.F.A. and the M.S.J.F.L., the Mentone Football Club which was a member of the Southern Football League and the Mentone Junior Football Club, a member of the M.S.J.F.L.

I think the last couple of weeks has got away from the point of this thread, what a close and good year it has been in B grade footy. Probably got 6/7 teams competing for finals and four competing to stay up, how about we talk about the actual competition. The other stuff will be sorted out in due course.

Thoughts are that it will be;

OM's
St Bernards
St Kevins
Uni Black
Trinity - unlucky to miss out - they have some quality players - Iezzi just one.

Relegation
OC
Old Camberwell
However, this could all change by the weekend.

Comp Best & Fairest????

Winner of B Grade Flag - OM's - good effort from where they were last year.

Regards LF.

Well said LF. Too much squabbling like little school girls from HR and Cardio. Cardio must surely be a child. He seems to get caught in some questionable arguments - not to mention his technique for debate.
Skevs will get the double chance. Bernies are prissy pretenders. Not hard enough at the knacker. Carey to avoid the drop. I think Ormond will slip down the trap door unless they can pull off a minor miracle. They've got the wood over HR which is their best shot.
OM's by the length of the Flemington straight, but Blacks dangerous if they can sneak in. Methinks not.

what's wrong wit bein' from oakleigh anywayz.

With the teams that will potentially move up into A grade do people think they can handle it against the likes of Xavs, DeLa or SBMT? As we saw this year with Old Essendon and Marc they just couldn’t cut it playing against the faster, harder brand of footy.

Cubzy, can you just post under 1 name, just makes it easier and saves everyones time

cheers

CC

your too easy carl.. thats me is it? based on what?... once AGAIN an unfounded, un-researched and thoughtless statement. It is your style though.
im cubzy and cubzy only.

for the record i did go through some of your old posts, funny how quite a few of them have been deleted recently. Your an idiot and ive wasted more than enough time on you.
the readers can make up there mind on you.

Think most posters would argee that OMs would probably been the best equiped right now...pretty of bigger A grade bodies although questions over the skills. Marc struggled in B at times last year so were always going to strugglen in A grade but looks like will stay up while OEG are not an A grade club seem to have a character issue is illustrated by just lying down when the chips are down. (Percentage in the 50s).

With a few inclusion of think any of Blacks, Trinity, SKOB or the Snowdogs could make a go of it. certainly no one looks as capable as St Bedes or collegians the year before right now....they were both stand outs.

I think will go something like this

top 4
1) OM
2) st.B
3) st. K
4) OT (only because slightly favorable draw compared to blacks)

relegation will be very interesting, ormond to play 2 of the bottom 4.. but seem to be struggling more than most atm. Id say ormond and camberwell to go down.

B&F: i was certainly impressed with green from OM's, and voss would have to be a big chance. Don't know enough about the other teams though.

BTW, do you think Robert Harvey (O.Hail) will finish in the top 10 in this year's VAFA B Section B & F Award?

Small changes

Freebaser : what small changes were you looking at?

Not talking financially Marto, poor as in no luck, unfortunate, stiff etc.

Definition: Worthy of pity or sympathy; used also sometimes as a term of endearment, or as an expression of modesty.

I know the different definitions of the word. Thanks for your pitty but as a St. Bedes old boy and a Hampton Rovers boy i certainly know which club i'd prefer to be at.

How do you think of these question, Jas, there outstanding thoughts.

Bedford - Your attempt at smart arse sarcasm would work better if you used "gooder" grammar. Should be questionS and "they're". Something to work on maybe....

"so you think i'd have reason do point you out other than the obvious?" Sorry, but like any simple minded person, no I do not comprehend that.

I have provided four posts that have a go at your club and you can't find one from me however you say i have a slur campaign and attacking the character of HR people. You provide no examples to support your attack.

We realise its been a long year for HR with Hammers picking up council $$ ahead of HR to build a new ground, players leaving HR for Hammers, relegation (which I doubt now) and a nervy night tonight for the bandy legged man.

However no need to jump shadows and attack people here without any basis.

So Cubzy or whichever poster you also go under, including your soon to be launched Cardio Vascular (Doctor, medicine please!) that you are plying across SFL & Saints threads, just take a chill pill and remember your representing the thoughts and actions of HR on here

Good luck for tonight

cheers

CC

Don't know much about the money situation but none of the boys that went to the Hammers were ones players. That has had absolutely no effect on our performance (seniors at least) this year.

i added in Dowd(gun), Baldwin(freak), Oswald, and someone else(cannot remember who) for players from the same club as themselves. I would also add in Simpson instead of Charles and maybe Martinov

If Tommy Simpson is not in the team of the year its becomes a joke. In the best 2 or 3 in the league for mine. I think the proof is that SKOB are still a double chance prospect with no marking forward of repute and only one key back who has been able to get on the paddock consistently.

Lawrence from Hampton got 4 weeks tonight for his king hit behind play against St. Bernards.

Deserves every one of those 4 weeks and deserves to be sitting on the sidelines watching Hamptons fight to avoid relegation.

Before you slag off at other posters spelling and grammar, perhaps check your posts before pressing the submit button!!! Pitty?
As far as what's a better club between St Bede's and Hampton, I'll take St Bede's thanks, good luck in the relegation battle, should be very interesting.

MIO, Simmo is a bonafide suburban football gun in any comp, and certainly the equal best player with Luke Mahoney to pull on a St Kevin's jumper since the great Nick Fraser.

My mistake. Put in the double t as i have written "Pitty" on numerous occasions in reference to a mate whose last name is Pitt.

See you in 2 weeks, Richard

Richard? Interesting. Don't know which side of the fence i'll be on but i'll see you there, Andrew.

Regardless of club or penalty, I think the hierarchy at St. Bernards should be congratulated on seeking and gaining justice for their young kid, and we wish him well.

I think the main lesson to be learnt is that we live in an age of technology where the hit behind play will be caught and eradicated.
