I am tempted to take the great man Tutto's tips, as it looks pretty straightforward on paper this week..but I need to tip an outsider, so..

Carey
OI
St B
UB
SKevs

Ivanhoe surely due to pull one out?

The Big Pineapple has come out of his slumber....things must be looking up at Keilor!
Private, read the quoted text in TBP's post and you will see my feelings on the upcoming game. I still expect a SKOB win, too much class across the ground, but will be by under 4 goals.

Sausage, I love your work(where have I read that before), all I will say about Xavier is that it's the 47th ranked school in Victoria for VCE results for a reason...

Aspen is calling Plumber, is George O'Connor still working there?

Tips for this round of football.

Great to see some normal posting here today.

Can you imagine the great man BG skiing anywhere else???

The highly credentialed independent assessor is absent for a week or so and the forum drifts toward bedlam. Fortunately, Jascave and Plumber49 jumped in to save the forum from plummeting further due to another attempt at sabotage by the Forum Flog Syndrome sufferer. So impressed was the insightful one he was moved to text his appreciation which I, as the messenger, I am pleased to pass on.

In the text the insightful one drew specific attention to THIS. It's a guide to the disruptive modus operandi of the Forum Flog Syndrome sufferer. Changing user names as each one is ignored and posting messages to each user name to create false conversation are two of the core tools of the troll. .

Of particular note was this para:

Remember, trolls feel rewarded by creating the biggest altercation possible. They want to get a reaction out of you. When you fight with a troll, he wins. When you reason with a troll, he wins. Any time that you give a troll attention, he gets exactly what he wants.

The best way to deal with trolls is to ignore them. When you ignore a troll, he doesn't get the satisfaction of creating an escalated conflict.

As a postscript the assessor made mention of Ulverstone. Being a kindly soul he didn't wish to offend any Apple Islanders but he did say it is place to visit just the once. He also suggested that the Dees got the wrong Watts.

Once again, well done to Jascave and Plumber49 for not acknowledging the forum wrecker and placing the forum back on track. Both have shortened in the race to achieve the inaugural prestigious Watchful Eye Premier Poster accolade.

The Watchful Eye Writers Watchlist will re-surface as soon as the highly credentialed independent assessor returns from his important duties. In the meantime, respect the forum, and don't feed the troll.

Play on

KEYS TO WINNING THE PREMIER B TITLE

Seeing that we are nearly towards the end of the home & away season, thoughts now turn to the finals.

So, what are the keys to winning the 2010 VAFA Premier B premiership?

1. Have players who are in form heading towards September.

2. How to handle playing conditions at Sportscover Arena (ie weather, wind factor).

3. Have a good game plan.

4. Players must play with controlled discipline at all times. The last thing a coach would want to see on Grand Final is one or more players being undisciplined doing thing like giving away 25m penalties or being sent off for 12min. The club wouldn't want their star player(s) up before the VAFA Tribunal on the eve of an imprtant final-especially the Grand Final.

5. Don't select players who are injured-even if it's a minor injury. Pick players who are 100% fit.

6. Must win the 2nd Semi Final. Especially when the team can have the week off and watch the two other clubs go at each other in arguably the toughest game in all of VAFA football-the Premier B preliminary final.

If a team can tick off these boxes, they will be VAFA Premier B premiers for 2010.

Good win out there Max, well done. OEG have officially taken the double drop ala Whitefriars a few years ago. They need to clean out all of yesterday's hero's and start afresh.

Briza,

Is there any life in OEG? or have they just given up the game?
They certainly haven't given up, although SKOB should have been 40 points up at half time if not for shocking inaccuracy. They pulled to within 9 points in the 3rd q and tried hard, they just don't string whole quarters together.

Joe,

Why not ask a real Oak supporter!

Old Carey were terrific yesterday ... and that was without Fiorenza, Evans and Laidler. Last 7 games they have won by an average of 13 goals... and it looks like A grade awaits them for the first time in their 50+ year history.

As for you guys Max, yep you're back and I'm hearing there are more (players) to return. Thursday night selection will be a tough one at OI ;) as it will be hard to leave out any of those players who did so well on Saturday against Old Haileybury.

Now for this week (OI v Oakleigh), we will be feeding our boys raw meat :D and looking forward to any of those left over roast lamb/beef rolls :p after the game as you mentioned in an earlier post.

Let's hope its a close affair.

It is nice to see a real Oak supporter on this thread.

Interesting that SOCA refused to answer the guest speaker question. No real surprise.

Max

I reckon it will be Old Carey v Old Haileybury in the VAFA Premier B Grand Final at Sportscover Arena on Saturday September 18, with Old Carey being the victors. Old Carey are the best team we have seen this year, and it'll take a good-no, make that very good-team to stop them.
