Don't be surprised if another senior citizen is announced as Coach of a B Grade club. Stay tuned.
Talk about going backwards, surely there were better candidates than that fossil. Might be a legend of the VAFA but not a good move for the future for Rovers.Russell Barnes at Hampton
Geez, I told you blokes about Barney 2 weeks ago, get with the programme, despite Uncle Mick trying to throw you off the scent.Russell Barnes at Hampton is the big whisper, hat a homecoming that will be. And also rumours that Fraser Cameron has been well sought after right across the grades, good luck to you Frase!
Good luck to Barney, he's a top bloke. A surprising appointment none-the-less. Maybe there's not as much available coaching talent out there as we imagine.[/QUOTE]
I thought so too. It's a big call by the Rovers to appoint the man who last coached them 10 years ago. And another thing is that when a coach-any coach-who is appointed to a VAFA club comes from a non-VAFA background, he might be surprised when told that the club doesn't pay its players, and also might not have an idea of the VAFA ethos of 'playing for the love of the game'.
