Hey CC - (I wrote this small so no one picks on me) I know you'd be looking down on us from somewhere.

Do these ones carry through to the Presidents Award next year?

Andrew Dewar, Old Brighton. Headbutting, 3 matches.
Timothy Montagna, Marcellin. Striking, 6 matches.

And on another note:

What's happened to Murph and his team. He was so chirpy a few weeks back.

No team listed last week - now that was a good ruse -

No Dartfish for two weeks - someone pulled the plug.

And not much Murph!

Only this:

Steven Mitchell, St. Bernards. Elbowing, 2 matches.

Good on ya Murph, pop your head up like Kid Boga did and lets reminisce old times.

Any indication UM on whether he intends to play in VAFA next year?? If so are the Rovers a chance to retain his services??

I ask bc I thought that you could coach/play you just couldn't get paid to do it (or only a minumal amount to cover expenses) - Scribe can you confirm this for me??
There are quite strict eligibility guidelines when it comes to playing coaches and for good reason. They can't receive much more than out of pocket expenses is my recollection - without checking.

From memory Shanners was contemplating playing for OH last year but was dissuaded because of the severe adverse affect on his fee.

I think a dollar is important to Robbo cos he has a bucket load of kids and we all know ammo clubs don't break the player eligibility payment rules :cough: don't we? Robbo enjoys VAFA footy but he could pick-up a grand a week in the MPNFL or even from some clubs in the SFL, so his decision will be interesting.

Strange that he is not able to be a playing coach due the VAFA rules regarding playing coaches, but he still wants to play in the VAFA.
It seems simple, if he wants to play in the VAFA then he can coach at the same time and not be paid. If he wants payment for his services then he doesn't play or he leaves the VAFA.

I had a discussion with another player about him being a playing coach. I didn't state that's what he wants to do. There are factors that are contributing to whether he will be able to coach in 2011. My understanding is Matty may not have the time to commit to the role and therefore playing becomes an alternative.

Silly outdated rule.. Know of many coaches who would love to be playing in the ammos but cause they can not get paid they coach in the country, efl or the shit football league (sfl)

Is it $1500 or $5000.

s already answered it's $1500 re playing coach. If he stays at HR is would be more than suss as he's giving up around 15-20K coaching, so expect him to end up at Pyramid Hill or Redan or similar for $1500 a game.
The highest paid I know of in the metro leagues is Troy Simmonds on $2000 a game plus $50 a goal.

No more sus than finishing up at the Bulldogs on probably $200k and fronting up for Ormond in his first couple of years out.

It's all speculation, Briza. Our focus is on this weekend and then after that we'll put our efforts into finshing the season off on a high against your mob. Once all that is done and dusted we'll worry about where Matty's at and what the future holds for him and HRAFC.

Micky, look to the juniors mate, you guys are very lucky with your awesome junior set up, Robbo's playing days are behind him, I'm sure there is some gun talent coming through for you guys.

Who cares what's happening with Robbins.

Things change wildly in the make up of clubs from year to year due to the the dollar, international tours, injuries, work, etc, etc and it's just pure speculation what's going to happen in 2011.

Stick to the on field action i say.

Interesting to see how the B Grade grounds are holding up at the moment. I hear that the uni oval needs a rest, T.H King not much better.

Shame that OM's are in A Grade, the junction would still be carpet in these conditions.

Whoa there Mickey! Robbo got his start at Ormond and wanted to a bit back in; he also wanted to play with his two brothers and a club supporter employed him. All entirely fair and above board. Unfair implication in that post of yours.

To the contrary Ammo Man. You've interpreted it unfairly. I see nothing sus about a decision for him to play at HR next year. Just as I see no problem with him returning back to Ormond after an AFL career.

Old Essendon vs Old Ivanhoe. Just too much at stake for the Chelmsworth boys to drop this one. Expect a coup if they did.
MHSOB vs Hampton Rovers. The Rovers comfortably in this one.
St Bernards vs University Blacks. Fancy that the snow dogs might be a little fired up for this one as their season is one the line - if it wasn't before.
St Kevins vs Old Carey. They say every win is a step closer to a loss and maybe tomorrow is that loss for Carey. Better to have one now than thru the finals. Right.
Oakliegh vs Old Haileybury. The Bloods will start warm favourites and should end the Oak's finals thoughts.
