Must have been a deep wound hampton inflicted on you Carl coz you can't seem to get over it? All the shit your saying about robbo is crap, you obviously don't know why he isn't coaching next year, so once again your making yourself look foolish.

your kidding aren't ya? all the big fanfare about how HR scored the big 'prize' of by pinching robbins from one un-successful Ormond, only for him to win 6 games and roll up to a game allegedly 'tanked'. yeah, i'm the foolish one, not the HR vommittee that hired him. old Bedford, Ammo Man etc are just rolling around laughing at the moment, fair dinkum.

Lets revisit it in 12 months - and you know i will

Just in from a great Premier A match today, have some gossip for you.

Firstly, St Bernards are after John Kanis to coach them next year and the word around the oval today is a figure of 30K!!!!!

Secondly and more importantly, I overheard a few VAFA brass discussing as to whether Old Carey are operating under the strict 'no pay' policy( you would have thought they wouldn't be so blatant in public) and the consensus was in the negative, I heard a few names thrown around and what they are alleged to have received, interesting!

this comes up year after year
surely the best team must be paying players... baseless really

looking like blacks are making a timely charge at a grade
told u not to write them off brian

Winners are grinners and losers can suit themselves.

But hen you pot a bloke like Scott Curatolo, then seriously Fu%k off. This bloke gave everything he had, but injury has taken its toll.

If we had kick straight in the 1st Half the result may (and I stress may) have been different.

Uni deserved their win and if they get Bolton back, may cause some issues in the following weeks.

Assuming OC go up, who ever joins them will have to show a 50% improvement to survive next year.

My tip is OC and UB for A Grade 2011

Max angry and out

Not really potting the bloke, potting the decision to play him. OI lost as they were to slow. Uni new this would be there advantage and picked a side to suit. Even had a 6 footer pinch hit in the ruck to ensure this advantage was increased. Curatolo shouldnt have been picked. Particularly with 3-4 lumbering types already in the 22. The game was lost out on the ground on Saturday, but severely influenced at selection on Thursday night. He was a liability on the field. May be a champion bloke and great stalwart of the club, but he should not have been picked IMO.

Been off and on this website due to work of recent, but i knew the old CC couldn't stay away!

Let's get a couple of things straight Mr No Credibility, anyone who is selected to be coach will get fanfare on their respective website because the club would clearly be trying to get new recruits on board & it was an exciting appointment at the time, justified by the continual talk on bigfooty. Secondly we won 7 games but that is neither here nor there as we didn't play finals. I don't think any of the committee would worry about a bloke who is too ashamed to state who he follows and just comes on to pot a club who is doing there best to become one of the few District Clubs to reach A grade in the last 30 odd years.

Caulfield the first team to be coming up next year, well done to them. Went and watched, probably will need to recruit a few though to be in the mix next year, Beauy looked quite small and not super quick.

When you call a player "a joke", that's potting someone.

If your not potting him then, remove that comment from your post. Pretty simple.

Pretty sure the comment 'joke' refers to the fact the guy was wearing a mattress around his leg and barely being able to move.

Surely OI had some players in reserve, few strange calls at selection obviously

why did the wheels fall off maxie? you were flying early in the season. you were as disciplined and well drilled as any side i saw this year at b.j and weatherly didn't make much of a contribution on that day. the side i saw on saturday was a shadow of that team.

blacks are looking ominous. o.h to go out in straight sets and o.c to take the chockies from blacks at the big dance.

What is pretty simple is the fact it was a shocker to play him. Simple as that. Thats my point. The selection of that team to play Uni on the big Elsternwick oval was mind boggling. Half a dozen blokes who couldnt run out of sight on a dark foggy night. Plus a bloke who looked like and played like the padded goal post.

It will be interesting to see who The Octopus pots from his own team when they lose?

To call a bloke "a joke " is a real pot, to call his selection "shocking" is a judgement call that is perfectly acceptable on BF.

To the other concerned posters, Blacks played very well, especially after half time.

Yes Big O lost his accuracy over the last couple of weeks.

It is no surprise that EP is not our favourite, our record has never been the best at this ground.

We at OI knew where we were at in terms of playing stock, but the team consists 8-10 players from our 2008 Under 19 Grand Final team, and with the current Under 19 team playing finals this year, we are hopeful to introduce further runners into the team in the coming years.

Whilst the year didn't end the way we planned, we are also aware that the future is looking good for the short and long term.

O, play the man on the field and not in BF.

Well said Max. Your passion for your team is v evident but u are usually even handed.
I caught the game on the weekend and i think Blacks did their homework and decided the only way to win was to run run run and at the end of the day that worked.
Pound for pound OI are prob a better team, but u can only play the way the conditions, ground and opposition let u.

Good luck to Blacks and the Magentas, but imo you are both well off the Panthers and i think they will romp it in (with the provisio that if conditions are shite on Sat then the bigger bodied Magentas might just find themselves in a GF.

With Caulfield coming up and the Catholics and Brighton boys coming down, we might just find Premier B is even more competitive and even than this year was.

Thats my 2cents

You seem to be the only one keeping this going. As i said, crazy and shocking decision to go in with an unfit passenger. You need to just suck this one up and move on. It went to a long way to costing Ivanhoe the game and should never be repeated again. Regardless of what type of a bloke he is.

Privateye - It will be impossible for me to pot my team when they lose.

Archy - Carey deserve to be favourites, but OH at full strength coming off an OC like 20 goal victory last week should not be undersold. There will be a few big experienced boys that will relish the challenge.

A bit quiet here this week, not that that's a bad thing.

Except the biggest game of the season thus far is only 3 days away. I've gone for Carey (no surprise really), but the weather is predicted to be awful and may bring the sides even closer together.

Reckon OH have plenty of stars but not quite the depth and eveness across their 22 that Carey boast. The chance of a wildcard coming off the bench and doing damage seems more likely for the Panthers.

Old Carey by 16 points.

The weather will play a big factor, i think Old Haileybury will come away with the win if they can tag Rowe & Howat out of the game. OH by 21 points in an upset!

Scribe, give me your thoughts on the top 5 in the league B & F?

Presuming it's a midfielders award still, we have to stick with the runners, save for the odd big fella.

Baldwin (OC)
Fletcher (HR)
Roberts (OH)
Low (OI)
Lynch (SKOB)

Could be another 10 blokes that work into that mix, as we have no idea how umpires think when it comes to votes do we?

Flaherty (OE)
Rowe (OC)
Crozier (OC)
Voss (OH)
Devereaux (HR)
Richardson (UB)
T.Biggs (OE)
T.Overman (St B)
Coughlan (SKOB)
Evans (MHSOB)

Wow, only another 7 blokes and we may have a TOTY? I wonder if Kenty will sneak in. ;)

Old Haileybury - Voss from Morrison
Uni Blacks - Richardson from Costello
Old Ivanhoe - Del Monte from Low
St Kevins - Lynch from Dowd
St Bernards - Byrne from Overman
Oakleigh - Harold from Rutter
Hampton Rovers - Fletcher from Semmell.
Old Essendon - Flaherty from Day
MHSOB - White from Evans

Big Game this week.

If the heavens come down it will bring the teams closer but OC are a level above everyone else. The bodies are even matched both teams have big bodies and alot of in and under players.
OH have the experiance in finals as OC has never played B grade finals..

OC have to keep Brown and voss out of the game like they have each time they played, or things will get interesting.
OH have to play as a team OC have to many good players for them to let their guards down.

OC by 35points. its going to be who wants to run all day. OC are a fitter younger team who run run run..

GL ALL!

Results from previous meetings-Old Carey v Old Haileybury:

ROUND 6

Old Carey 12.15.87
Old Hail. 8.8.56
At McKinnon Res.

ROUND 13

Old Carey 13.13. 91
Old Hail. 6.10. 46

I missed the Blacks vs OI game due to work commitments.

Can anyone tell me how these guys went?

Stuart Low. Tough as nails. Still going strong.

Mark Bolton. Didn't see his name in the paper.

Nick Butler. Watched him kick 5 a few weeks back.

Huw Lacey. Slippery and quick.

Yeah funny, about as funny as you not putting Brett Voss in the top 15!!! I'll give you the benefit of the doubt and think that you may have forgotten him, anyone who has seen OH play this year will most likely agree he has won several games off his own boot. It's also laughable that you don't have the VAFA State captain in your top 15 either, but thats only my opinion.
I would take out Evans, Biggs and Deveraux.
