Ditto

But why not 4 Boundary Umpires. Ground is big enough, and there would be a surplus of boundary umpires at this time of the year!

OC won by an amount that they were expected too.

But for 3 quarters it was a fierce contest.

The game looked like it was going to explode when Dolly through his weight around (plenty to use), then Ford retaliated.

OH were without Siapantis from half way through the 1st Qtr, and then lost Ford half way through the 2nd Qtr. Ford came back on in the last, but was no effect.

Prior to that Ford was towlling up M-M, and Voss was dangerous.

Voss went down with what appeared to a be a serious ankle injury but made a return with less effect.

Evans and Chisholm were hell bent on punching the shite out of each other.

It was clear from today's performance, that the best two teams made the GF, and the best team on the year came out victors.

In the last quarter OH had spent all its tickets and OC made a close game look like a canter.

Best player on the ground imo was 34 from OH who was almost perfect at FB/CHB.

OC were evenly spread with Freemantle being damaging the 1st and 3rd. Fiorenza was difficult to stop up front.

Pretty good summary. I thought dolly was very disappointing and had virtually no inpact . Looked slow and fat and couldn't get across the ground. Just tried to throw his weight around, with his usual cheap hero stuff. That is two bad grand final performances in a row for him.

Well done to OC and agree 34 was excellent for oh (as was 4) and thought 13 and 2 were good for Carey

Carey responded well when challenged

Wrong on Dolly- he was hurt early and came back to win some key clearances. I think he would be pretty happy with the medal around his neck

Well good luck to him. We will have agree to disagree about him having an impact.

At least he does have a medal this time.

Very impressed with no 13

Scribe,

I know its a tough job, but to leave Stuart Low out of the TOTY, reflects:

1: You didn't get to many games (cheap shot)
2: OI didn't pump his tyres enough
3: You rely too heavily on the Umps votes

Low and Weatherley were OI's most influential players, which was reflected in OI's B&F

1st Low (by a mile)
2nd Greer (great 1st season in Senior football)
3rd Weatherly (not bad for missing 6 games)

PS How did Dowd go at St.Kevins B&F? Another to miss out on TOTY.

Dollys clearance work was good. His clearance work in the second semi was amazing. One of the key players in Careys rise from D2 to A Grade both on and off the field. Legend status. Best for me were Kent, Willingham and Freemantle in the 3rd quarter where the game was won.

Can't comment on the second semi, but he sure wasn't "amazing" on the weekend. A small contributor at best. Happy for him to have a medal after missing out last time and having left the club for two years playing for money.

Thought 13 and 2 played well.

Ron,

Are you related to 13, you have mentioned how well he played 3 times.:D

Only by marriage! I don't think he is related to dolly!

no 13 James Courtot, 19yo and State U19 rep. No 2 Grant Baldwin, State rep, State u23 rep, and hopefully australian amateur rep- no Courts is not related to Dolly.

MAx , note that you talk about Haileyburies injuries. Old Carey lost Stewart-Holmes with AC at the start of the second. Dolly knocked out and heavily concussed in the first, and Howat hammy beginning of the third, so both sides had their concerns. Great effort by Old Haileybury, but awesome season from Old Carey. I still feel a bit ill after a very big Saturday night!!Off to THailand now.

Ron you sound very familiar. You aren't from the other OC are you, especially referring to a C grade grand final. There were a couple of current and ex wellers there on saturday.

Agreed,

Both teams had injuries, but at the time OH lost Ford, he and the team were on fire.

Best team of 2010 won the GF, no question.

Nothing wrong with someone wanting to make a little coin in their prime. Mortgages can be a real stinger for some Briza!

Max, agree with all of the above, Low would be your first selected every year for the last few I would have thought. Dowd not being selected is like not selecting Lenny Hayes in the All Australian team, a joke, but expected after Dowd only finished in the top 6 in the league B and F after missing a few games. No SKOB B and F news yet, will be held soon.
Apparently Fraser told the Fitzroy faithful last week that he was keen to stay on but is in high demand re a coaching gig, will be interesting to see if 'Scribe' lands a gig with a good playing list.

Hampton Rovers had their Presentation Night on last week and the results are as follows:

Senior B&F: Leigh Fletcher
Reserve B&F: Ben Kezilas
Under 19 B&F: Jack Sperring & Tom Youl
Thirds B&F: Adam Power
Best Clubman Award: Lachlan Wheeler
Life Members: Gary Nash & Steve Anderson

Russell Barnes at Hampton is the big whisper, hat a homecoming that will be. And also rumours that Fraser Cameron has been well sought after right across the grades, good luck to you Frase!

Appointing barnes will be a quick road to c grade for the rovers

Spoke to Barney and he said he was putting his hat in the ring. I suspect they'll interview him, but I'd be very surprpised if he got the gig. Having not spoken to any of the HR hierarchy, I can only go on my insticnts which tell me they'll be looking for someone young with some fresh ideas. Similar to the appointment of Matty last year. That said, Barney's relationship with Matty may add some currency to his application.
