Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to all.
I hope everyone has enjoyed a break and is now back into the swing of things.
This year is sure to bring a lot of high's, low's, surprises and let downs.
Murphy's Law - 30 / 1 for our boys...I think we deserve a little higher than that! Also, i'm not certain that Uni Blacks are the favourite for the flag just yet. One can only go by the ladder positions finished in the previous year, and from what I can remember, the blacks didn't play in September.
Well I look forward to the banter that will begin as the new year rolls in!

OEG having a short break,many players away and most have done plenty of work.Should be a strong side with a few new inclusions.At this stage i can not devulge the new star recruit,poaching is rife particulary those in the gully and they know about this bloke.

MHG i agree, not sure why they think Blacks are flag favourites, weren't super impressive when we met them on both occasions. SKOBS should be flag favourites if they haven't lost anyone followed by Bernies. Old Carey at 7's, give us a spell, they would want to have recruited very well for those odds!

As I stated, I have no idea about the 2 clubs coming up from c grade, and I am not hearing that they are any SBMT streak potentials....hence the long odds.
Skobs were a fair price I felt.
OEG will be one to watch after first few starts...should be strong again I would think.
OC have, from my mail, recruited very very well... depth the biggest concern.

think you'll find there are a few retirements at skobs. garves was one i remember who said he was hanging 'em up. i thought blacks were ordinary in the first half of last year but came home strongly. they're certainly in the mix for mine.
I can understand the MHS odds as their best player by a fair bit still has not had a shoulder reco, so i imagine will not play. I have heard Oakleigh have recruited well, blacks very well, and Old Carey very very very well and have guns returning from season long injury, depth will not be a concern this year

Think Ty has done that himself..nothing too malicoius in simply saying you can have him. I think Blacks will start flag favourites. Were terrific in the back half of the year (beat OMs), Carey (if the rumours are true....depth will still be the weakness though bottom half was terrible) SKOB & OEG make up my early prediction for the final four. OI will also be in contention if Heta plays.

Good call Murph and you can another 2 clubs that have had a strong recruiting period with a couple of big names (and a couple of friends) Inked in at one and pencilled in at another at this stage. some major latte drinking has been going on in one well know Cafe in the Jam&Pickle strip!!!
If they appear then a few of those long odds will be snapped up very quickly when betting opens

I am very confused too. If i had to guess i would say maybe Oakleigh way, but this is a big guess. Stop being so crytpic CC. Everyone is talking up OC, but they would have to have picked up some guns after just surviving relegation. I have heard Freemantle will be back but they will need more than him.

i would say the same thing about most of the teams that finished outside the 4 (blacks not included)
its great to add 2, 3 or 4 stars to your seniors, but if your bottom 15-35 players are rubbish you will probably fall over at some stage

In receiving some PM's from a couple of Hampton Rovers posters, don't be fooled, Bouncing Back (Caulfield Carla, or whatever other name he comes in under) is from Hampton Hammers SFL (sources state he maybe an ex-rovers person ) who comes on here to 'motivate' other posters to attack/discredit The Rovers.
Even seen his VERY CLOSE mate Uncle Mick posting on the SFL Div3 Threads, mmmmmmm

Something about his/their current medical condition. heh, heh, heh

Wouldn't surprise me CC, those Hammer boys have felt inferior to us Ammos boys for years. I suppose you would be envious when you play in a competition that would be up there with the worst in Melbourne.
Anyhow hopefully this year provides some quality banter and even better footy!

don't be taken in by those lies l.f. as if a legit h.r poster would p.m him anyway. lies and misrepresentation are snarler's forte. i'm neither a mate of uncas nor would i have anything to do with the hammers.
i too hope that we stick to reliable footy stuff. i only resorted to giving the snarler some b.b verbal chin music last year because of his abuse, especially that directed at district clubs and more especially h.r. the mod seemed to agree he was out of control giving him a red card for it.
most people would learn. let's hope he has the capacity to learn and this year stops the abuse and lies and concentrates on real footy stuff. his last effort doesn't look too promising though.

LF as per our PM's (yes BB, legit HR people talk to me on & off BF silly). Bouncing Back stuffed himself up when he challenged me to name the HR coaching applicants - i named them and he said he would verify, which he could not. As stated, to our knowledge no one in the know at HR had any approach from a 'BB' to verify or check the applicants as he stated (not even his great mate Cubzy) - if we have missed the person BB approached to verify the coaching applicants perhaps he could PM you who it was?...doubt it though. A bit hard to verify when your from the Hammers.
He and G? taking great pleasure in getting their ground fixed before yours as well.
Challenge him to PM you or his great mate Cubzy with his name - I bet ya he won't. If he was a true HR he wouldn't fear doing it.
