thanks for that cubzy. i was at b.j last week and the improvement from last year is marked. fantastic to see the good working relationship with the council.

it seems councils are getting more interested in playing conditions. i have a mate connected to de la and they're very pleased with the work done by the council there. and on the 'c' section thread comments have been made about the huge reno they're doing at gunn reserve.

Yep! The reconstruction at E.E.Gunn is massive. The projected cost is $650.000.

Hey BB, nothing wrong with someone posting 'dribble', and your writing skills are on the lower end of the scale!

thanks for your [strike]useful[/strike] input. i've noted your writing capacity and will give appropriate attention to your opinion.

The sewer system runs under the ground and they broke it last week putting the sod laying back a couple of weeks. Glen Eira Council are doing up every main ground , not all at once , but the one's already done are sensational.

i know stonnington is doing up all their grounds too, bedford. water issues are the driving force for behind the councils resurfacing programs.

V.A

A Blacks fan would know better, but I don't think Parkin has had any official role with them since taking up his role with the VFL.

Got mail yesterday that Coughlan has signed on with Skob for 2010 and will begin training this Wednesday when they go back, Any other notable signings over the break?

Gee, IF correct, Coughlan is a massive coup. I had heard some other really big signings but after reading in the paper last month he was off to Old Xavs, I thought he was just another w***er looking for a gifted premiership. Would be great for the VAFA for it's potentially best player pulling on the boots in B Section. The question must now be asked does a part time player in Matthew Richardson come as part of the package as mooted by Jon Anderson last month?
Have heard Old Carey should be favorites(they are pumping themselves up) along with Uni Blacks followed by the two clubs coming down from A Section.

anyone know why on earth Coghlan would go to St Kevins of all clubs?? Not sure Righetti is the best ground for a dicky groin! (pardon the pun)

I hear the Blacks are fuming after helping him with numerous employment opportunities.

Apparently he was all set to go to Old Xav's but Zane Johnson pulled out to travel overseas, Coughlan had being in talks with Skob as he has a number of friends down there, I believe one of the connections is Luke Williams and it sounds like they have now come to an agreement. I'm sure Skob will be happy to get one over Blacks after loosing a number of players to them. A Dowd, Simpson Coughlan midfield will be very hard to control.

I have been told in the last hour by a member of the VAFA executive that he is best friends with ex Melbourne player Luke Williams. I was also told that it is not work related and that a member of the Richmond board who has no affiliation with the VAFA gave him a job.
Interesting re Uni Blacks, it seems Ray Wilson is pretty heavy handed when he misses out on potential targets, perhaps karma is catching up with Blacks over them breaking the unwritten rules of not poaching players from other VAFA clubs. Huw Lacey, Matt Kempton etc were products of fellow VAFA clubs whom had been developed over numbers of years to leadership status only to have been 'poached' by Wilson.
Im still pretty certain Haileybury will be strong, but perhaps this is because my heart tells me this rather than my head.

Don't know if Matty Kempton was poached...and he certainly wasnt a product of the VAFA system. Played A section seniors in his 1st VAFA game.

Geez MIO, what is wrong with you? Of course Kempo was fu cking poached, along with Rizio, Purcell, Sibila, Bevacqua, Villela and some others which caused a lot of heartache at SKOB at the time, it resulted in us nearly going to C Section.

In regards to Kempo, he was a product of SKOB from age 17, rose to club DVC and was taught how to play real football by MMA. Blacks deserve all they get, a bunch of guys who wish they played for and were Uni Blues, so any victory over them, even in two up, is savored by a lot of the older guys at SKOB with long memories.

Mate no one loves beating those guys more than me (it was a sweet double this year)....Travvy's jaw and Joe Lynch's concussion have not slipped my memory. Just stating some facts that Kempo arrived at the club (at age 18 btw) as a pretty good player and left to play with his brother.

ps the memory does not have to be too long have only been playing them for about 4 years.

Carey welcome back AL Parton who today officially severed ties with blackburn.

A welcome addition and word is his very talented sibling might be part of the package!

OEG. Training well with good numbers. No predictions however no imports this year.OEG have the raw material to do well if they knuckle down and look to the future and remember last year.
