OEG may have had a bad year, however we are a tough lot.Next time we have a chance at A section we will be prepared and have players that are competitive.Old Brighton went up and down about three times before they consolidated. We have nothing to prove, just keep watching the results.
On the contrary, you have a hell of a lot to prove. OEG are under massive pressure to turn it around and recover credibilty in the eyes of the BF community!!!

OI(battle of two worst jumpers in b grade)
Crushers(won't lose too many at home)
UB(start of long season for Oh)
HR(short people too run rings around oe midds)
Skobs(too much depth through midds)

The Bryce McGain of VAFA football. Waited years for their chance in the big time, and hope that no-one noticed what happened when they got there.

Hampton Rovers defeated Old Essendon by 26 points.

Congratulations to hampton Rovers for being the better side on the day, well done ,you deserved your win.

However this game will go down in history for one of the most outragious, cowardly acts ever seen on the OEG oval.Ess, forward luke Geistner is presently [after being taken by ambulance] at the Alfred Hospital after being King hit by his opponent.{from behind}I will be interested what the vafa do to investigate this incident.
No wonder parents refuse to let their sons play football

How much are Old Ivanhoe paying Owen Weatherly, obviously replaced Hetta's dollars with him. He was a freak goal kicker in the SANFL, and everywhere else he's played. Im tipping him to kick 100 this year, he can't be stopped.
$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$

Isn't VAFA strictly amateur? As in no payments. ;)

Watched a high standard, tough game of footy today between SKOB and St Bernards. A few stars on each team with a SKOB player gaining 45 touches, both teams look really good at this early stage of the season.
Two St Bernards players red carded so I would expect at least two changes for them next week.

what happened?

I find it absurd that on a day where many sections didnt play, that the VAFA only supplied field and goal umpires and we had the super ridiculous where St Bernards couldnt even supply a boundary umpire, yet they had 22 players from the ressies watching the game. They had their water carriers acting as pseudo boundary umpires, which is outrageous, this is not Premier B football, St Bernards should get a kick up the arse for not being organised enough, very, very poor form.

If Benny Goodman is getting paid and making lots of noise about how great a job he is doing, then why the f.ck did this happen today....LIFT YOUR GAME BENNY AND VAFA.

an ugly incident, and not a proud moment for the player involved or the club. It is important to note that it was in retaliation though.

The vafa will investigate and make the decision, lets concentrate on the footy.

Not suprising with HRovers. They are an ordinary club, with a terrible ground and feral supporters. Retaliation or not, every year they are involved in sniping behind play. Go join the Southern League! Disappointing...let's hope the injuries are not serious...and the VAFA tribunal sends a clear message.

Anyone know who were the 2 reports for the Snowdogs?

Dont feed me that retaliation crap. This kid had his back turned,he saw nothing mate.Mate he hit the bloke in front of 100 people.

Great to see the coach{Robbins} when the creature ran to the rovers bench was hugged by robbins as sort of well done.Terriffic stuff. How could any coach do that.Unbelievable.I just hope the kid is not too badly hurt!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Oh Cubzy, we just couldn't let your post go by without pasting your post from 2009 when you tried to defend #19 king hit behind the play against St Bernards last year.

St Bernards had the video and your bloke got 4.

I think all of the VAFA community hopes that the OEG video was rolling today.

Your club is an absolute disgrace and continues to be the THUGGERY CLUB of the VAFA.

Re: B Section 2009
obviously knowing 'buckers' quite well its a shame his reputation is being tarnished by posters giving shady versions of what happened, i know i was watching the ball and not this incident, im assuming most of you were also. To come on here and state "facts" about what happened, with the accused not able to defend their actions, slightly tragic. He is a fantastic guy, very strong ethical character who would be as dissapointed as any by what has transpired. I know if i had been 'king hit' behind play 'discracefully' and i had team-mates around, i know exactly what they would do. I wonder if that is a reflection of the tightness of the bernies group, or a hint towards the severity of the incident. I suspect the latter.

Let the tribunal sought out whatever punishment they see appropriate, and that should suffice. His character doesnt need to be attacked by people behind keyboards.

43 and 14.

CC, what is ur point? Im not defending the actions, merely reporting both sides of the story. As i said tho, the VAFA is responsible for handing out penalties, and they are capable of doing so without bias comments from one eyed supporters.

Thats his point. Look in the mirror.

My point is that there is a little "De Ja Vue" happening in regard to players from opposition clubs being King Hit behind play by HR players.

Like you, we hope the thing is investigated and the appropriate penalty handed out, but, end of the day even you will admit it again tarnishes HR as all in football hate King Hits behind play.

Do you have any comment in regard to Robbins hugging the offending player as he came off the ground??

Anyone tip five??? Cardio where u been??essendon guy swung first I've heard over the grepevine???
Great win crushers... A powerhouse on their way up!! I like them!!
