Brilliant :thumbsu:
Absolutely brilliant :thumbsu::thumbsu:
No, seriously......

Didn't realise Premier B was reduce to an 8 team competition for 2011. Guess Oakleigh and Blacks had better contact HQ to find out what competition they're playing in this season.

I dont mention teams i know nothing about about. No false stuff from me. so i ranked the teams i do know things about. Hence why i didnt say this is my ladder prediction, i only ranked them.
I should have mentioned that. Also thats why i said St Kevs are probs middle to top, but i ranked them second. cos i dont know the other two teams.

All i can say about the Uni Blacks are that they are the rejects from the Blues, and the little boys of the uni. And Oakleighs ground is nice. but i dont know anything about them, i dont know any players or coaching staff from either side.

Nothing I love more than "Newbies" who get on and slag off on anything that moves.

Nothing wrong with our ground, unless you on the end of a "towelling".

Offering nothing new. Just rehashing what has already been said on this thread.

Max Out

My Mail (according to my reliable sources)....

Bernies to get some top-liners back. Are they past their prime?
Rovers look like losing a few, Robbins a good inclusion.
Blacks look to have recruited well...but nobody on BF has mentioned anyone except Heffernan, so i'll be a little vague here.
Caulfield have attracted a few big boys, but will probably choke at the business end of the season.
SKOB will be strong, have gained a few and lost a few (Gia x 2 according to my sources - Bigfooty poster BS!!)
OI haven't recruited Heta and someone retired.
Oakleigh have had some retirements according to page 252.
etc etc.....

Please gives us a break. If you are volunteering new info, please continue....but to continually re-hash pages off BF is just ridiculous. Floggathon it has become (is there 2 "g's" in Floggathon Brian?)

Can't agree with Chief about Old Ivanhoe.

The ground is a decent size, reasonable condition, the sounds of native birds permeate the air.

Unusual, quaint change rooms await the visitor. As does a quality Hot dog - In my Top 5.

The hosts are always welcoming and take a lot of pride in their lunch and red wine.

Only issue is a few local vociferous mentally challenged misfits who abuse the opposition all day without fear or favour, but that's footy.

HBP, I'm not even sure it is a word! However, if it is, with only one g it would be pronounced floegathon, so I put two g's in there anyway!

Agree re Pump and Dump, a few 'shit stirrers' have gone very quiet whilst a couple of new shit stirrers have emerged.

Max, any chance your bro will climb into those tight shorts again and dominate?

He'll have to steal them of Johnnie (Lord of the Tight Shorts) Stevens.

At 41 he maybe a little passed it. Not bad effort playing Ammo footy over 4 decades.:thumbsu:

Keano is loving all this Caulfield choking talk.........thinking of baking a pie later in the year!

K, the choking talk is based on facts from last 2 years, (dominant H&A series only to fall at the finals and up to B Grade without a flag).

I don't think you will choke this year as I can't see you guys getting above 2nd last place. I think your very good players (Slevo,Sinclar, Carbs etc ) are not getting any younger or fitter and will find it harder in B Grade - unless you can enlighten us on any young recruits that may add that pace and spirit around the packs.

So you would like slice too CC! Great!

Readily admit that in 2009 after not losing a regular season game and then not winning a final, that we failed.

In 2010 the Sharks finished top of the ladder and Caulfield finished 2nd only above Ajax on percentage. They won a great game by a point. Choking, I think not CC, dissappointing, definately.

Finally no one get's younger princess and pace has never been an issue. As far as recruiting goes there's always quality at a quality club. All 4 teams made their Grand Final last year and the School side finished 2nd in the APS. The depth is good, the numbers at training are strong and the boys don't intend to just make up the numbers.

K, if you guy's even make the finals, i will walk up the ramp and sit down and eat the whole bloody cake, it ain't going to happen.

So you agree, 2009 was a choking failure.

Just love the, "oh just a point difference", you conveniently forgot to mention the score at quarter time, I think you kicked 6.9 to 0.0 in the first quarter, only to add another 3.7 in the remaining 3 quarters.

Now that smacks of choking in the 1st degree on the biggest day in the year and not to have a flag to show for 2 very good competitive years must really hurt.

As I have stated, Stevie is a good strategist coach but lacks the ability to get into the team mentally and make them play out games they should win.

All the best

cheers

CC

I think you're right. I'll have to dig out my records and check.

Check the BOM website and it'll also tell you about the wind blowing down the centre of the ground.

The Sharks kicked 5.3 in the second quarter.

CC, Stevie's all good and if your radar has the Fields in trouble, history would suggest we're probably sitting pretty!

Was it still blowing in 3rd quarter when (I think - OTP may help here) your team went goalless after kicking 6 (15 scoring shots to Zero) in the 1st?.

But I'm sure you will tell us the wind changed 3 times during the day, all against your guy's.

Hope is the denial of reality.

As I said, all the best

cheers

This may have being already said but Hampton would be spewing after loosing Semmel and Gleeson to a club up the bush.. Have heard from a strong source few others could follow as there has being abit of trouble down at boss james..

Is this confirmed or just another pre-season rumour and if so where are they going? Being De La boys we hoped that one day they would both end up back at Diary Bell rather than going bush.

He aint no loss, in fact any player chasing $$ are a different breed really, means they struggle to make a coin in the 9-5 world.

I will always revert back to these comments from Nick Bourke, when he moved on from HQ:

On Monday night, we presented MHSOB’s veteran ruckman Roger McIntyre with the C Section Medal, we paid tribute to Peter Brabender, who has played 407 games with Old Paradians and not one in the Reserves. I made mention too of Andrew Ramsden, the classy Old Trinity warhorse, who has been the mainstay not only of his club, but of Victorian teams as well. These three represent a thousand more who have continued to play VAFA football with their mates when they could have played elsewhere for cash. Playing for the love of their game is a tradition rooted in another time but one that has survived because it has great merit. A century ago, our Association’s second President L A Adamson espoused views that are still commonplace in the VAFA: that the team was bigger than the individual, the game bigger than the player, and as Kipling had observed, that triumph and disaster are impostors to be treated in the same fashion.

Today, it is commonplace around our grounds to see players having a drink with those same men that half an hour before they were so desperate to beat.

With + eleven-thousand registered players and clubs spread across metro Melbourne and beyond, Nah, he won't be missed, in fact, Who is he anyway?

A bit late on this one I know boys but if im not mistaken wasn't Nick Bourke involved in OX's before moving to HQ??? Clearly there wasn't a bible in sight that night for people to swear on....

Wonder if LA Adamson would have been so impressed with the creative ways some clubs have found in recent times to maintain one of the strongest clubs in the history of the comp....

K, I owe you an apology, I went onto the BOM website and your right, conditions did not suit your guy's

Melbourne ForecastStrong favorable winds tending to disappointment later in the afternoon followed by howling winds of despair later in the day. Advised that persons with Asthma may experience some degree of choking coughs and also sportspersons with severe Heart problems are advised to take caution. A severe Sheep alert for the Sandringham area has been issued.

Cyclone alert: Cyclone Denial will have its epicentre near the corner of Booran and Neerim Rds Caulfield early evening however this will dissipate out to a tropical rain mass of tears. Facilities with flags poles are urge to not raise them, that's if they have a flag

Interesting, keep us informed of any further developments.

I'm sure you guys at the Hampton Hammers have the photocopier churning out the Clearance forms ready for the mass exodus of players across Bluff Rd. Who wouldn't want to play on your fantastic new football ground the council pumped some cash into, it looks fantastic I believe, plus with a premiership under your belt..

No wonder the HR posters are quiet on here, I thought it was just Barney;s edict to keep off BF. I'll have to catch up with him for a lemon squash to see what's happening down there, perhaps the new discipline required has stirred the pot and some guy's can't handle it.

Interesting times perhaps.
