Not if they are recruiting Robbins, he is their best player.

Merrington is 33 this year and at 192cm is a lot shorter than 6'7'', however he will still be a very good player at B Section level, although the opposition CHB's will be keen to run off him as he is genuinely slow.

Not hopeful pump, both are defs. Both havent missed many sessions. Madden is going well on the back of first pre-season in a long time. Pearson back after being interstate for Uni and playing some games for Southport.

The others youll just have to wait and see.

Is 6'7 a good height for a CHF??????
a fit madden will be up with dowd, weatherly etc as the best player in b grade

Heta back at OI max...? that would be a huge get

We will all have to "Watch this space".

Actually, not sure. The former Woodrow winner would be a handy "in". We might be able to find a spot for him!!:D

He was offered almost $30,000 to play at East Ringwood too, but has signed with Balwyn.

We have a couple of 6 foot 7 giants Chris Griffin, should be an interesting match up when we play each other.

Geez, our free Happy Meal after every game was rejected, can't understand why.:D

He can't be considered a loss as we did not have him last year.

He aint no loss, in fact any player chasing $$ are a different breed really, means they struggle to make a coin in the 9-5 world.

I will always revert back to these comments from Nick Bourke, when he moved on from HQ:

On Monday night, we presented MHSOB’s veteran ruckman Roger McIntyre with the C Section Medal, we paid tribute to Peter Brabender, who has played 407 games with Old Paradians and not one in the Reserves. I made mention too of Andrew Ramsden, the classy Old Trinity warhorse, who has been the mainstay not only of his club, but of Victorian teams as well. These three represent a thousand more who have continued to play VAFA football with their mates when they could have played elsewhere for cash. Playing for the love of their game is a tradition rooted in another time but one that has survived because it has great merit. A century ago, our Association’s second President L A Adamson espoused views that are still commonplace in the VAFA: that the team was bigger than the individual, the game bigger than the player, and as Kipling had observed, that triumph and disaster are impostors to be treated in the same fashion.

Today, it is commonplace around our grounds to see players having a drink with those same men that half an hour before they were so desperate to beat.

With + eleven-thousand registered players and clubs spread across metro Melbourne and beyond, Nah, he won't be missed, in fact, Who is he anyway?

He will be missed.

When someone offers you that amount of money, it is almost impossible to refuse.

Watch last quarter of the VAFA vs EFL game, Dowd and Ball will testify to his ability.

Hadyn won the VAFA A Grade B&F in 2008.

Cardio, amazed you didn't know who he was!!

Gee Max, I'm getting worried about your state of mind old boy.

In regard to not knowing him, it was a figure of speech.

What concerns me are your 2 contradictory quotes in 2 posts

"He can't be considered a loss as we did not have him last year".

"He will be missed"

Just a little testy.
Bought new bat $610
Bought new gloves $35
Bought new pads $110
Bought new cricket bag $100
Batted 4 times this year with two games to go:thumbsdown:.

Your right you can't miss what you didn't have.
But he will be missed from around the club as he trained regularly with us last year. Good bloke. Balwyn have got a "good one".

Cardio, would never question the your knowledge of the game. Just thought I would put it out there. (and closing in on 500:thumbsu:)

OI's have been surprisingly quiet in here for a team who made finals last year? relied on too few that are no longer there?

and any praccy matches worth note? (b-grade vs. b-grade)

For a team who wasn't happy with their finals performance, we surely not going to get on BF and tell the world that we are going to be world beaters.

We are training well but it's only February.

Pracy matches against 1x A Grade + 1 x B Grade team

I hear things aren't too good at St Kevin's, no recruits at all and lost a heap. I also hear that Marcellin are really struggling with numbers, anyone else heard these rumours?

Word out there is the rovers may lose players to the bush for cash. Key players**. Bottom of the pack this year. Wont be having too much to sing about.

Marcellin are struggling, and this club doesnt look like it will be returning to A grade or staying in B. Merge on the way?? on their way to the division leagues.

Beauy are recruiting some decent players. Middle to bottom team. C grade is far different to B grade boys. Some players who will lose interest half way throught the season when that winning culture dissapears and reality kicks in.

St Kevs, have lost some, but are also getting some handy types.
Middle to top team. Consistant & Dangerous.

Rumour says St Bernards are getting some stars back, but my thinking is the best is past these players. Middle to top team, Can they travel?? can they return to A Grade. probably not.

Beach Boys have held onto their list fairly well, and have some giants returning home. As much as it kills me, Top. A grade has matured their young ones, Favourites, but do their youngsters know how to win?

Caulfield - who cares.. C Graders, and the chokers who are lucky to gain access to B Grade. How did they not win the C grade comp.

OI - Rumour says the big main man was coming back to crunch all ruckman before him, but ill squash that rumour right now. Middle to bottom. Hope they leave B Grade, cos everything about their home ground stinks.

Absolutely brilliant :thumbsu::thumbsu:
No, seriously......

Didn't realise Premier B was reduce to an 8 team competition for 2011. Guess Oakleigh and Blacks had better contact HQ to find out what competition they're playing in this season.

Nothing I love more than "Newbies" who get on and slag off on anything that moves.

Nothing wrong with our ground, unless you on the end of a "towelling".

Offering nothing new. Just rehashing what has already been said on this thread.

Max Out

i agree max

i dont think there will be any Old Carey 10' or OM's 09' standouts this year with 4 or 5 VFL guns returning... remember last year with a few rounds to go there were about 5 teams equal 2nd on points
bernards are more than happy with players returning, even happier with the younger guns getting closer to their peak
skobs, OI, Blacks will all be up there

more to follow as the clearances filter through
