The highly credentialed independent assessors predictions for the forthcoming Premier ‘B’ season BF board:

7. Watchful/Private/VAFA Eye will continue to post their Sunday Obnoxious HR posts to belittle any and all posters that may exhibit untoward on the HRFC and continue to provide no other contribution to the board.

Very disappointing that he will also slacken off by not taking the time to update the tables and embed these into the posts - very lazy.

Maybe Barney will catch up with him and tell him to improve his game or he can leave like a few others.

Bait Up!

I think it was a great appointment with Barney, got a lot of experience at many levels in the VAFA. Has an understanding of the club and is keen to take our boys to the next level. In saying that i think Matty was great for the club last year and added a huge amount in just 1 year, let's hope he adds just as much on the field.

I see Marcellin have appointed Macpherson, surely they would have had to throw huge dollars to get him across from Greenvale, maybe they are hoping he can bring a few players - couldn't see them coming for no $$$ though!

Jase, compared with your usual well-informed insight, the above post failed to give satisfaction and taste. It's the kind of thing I'd expect from a sports reporter on Channel 7 news, with his back to the players running drills at BJ oval.

We expect, and deserve, better old son.

Scizza calls it off at 179.

Old Ivanhoe’s Scott “Scizza” Curatolo has announced his retirement after 179 memorable club games. Persistent serious knee injuries over the past two years have taken their toll and following another operation and subsequent consultation with his specialist, Scott has announced that his playing days are over.

Curatolo is widely recognised as a tough, fearless and much respected teammate and opponent. He joined the Hoers from the school’s Mernda campus in 2001 and represented the VAFA U19 in both 2001 and 2002. He also represented the senior VAFA side against the VCFL in 2007.

In 2002, he won both the VAFA & OIGFC U19 B&F. He then went on to win four senior club B&F awards and played in the club’s Premier B premiership in 2005.

Centremen from all other clubs can rest a little easier.

will he go into a coaching role at OI Max?...great position for him one would have thought

all the best Mr C

Yes he has been earmarked as the tackling coach. He has already had offers from the Melbourne Storm:D.
Great kid (showing my age) who will help in anyway that is needed.

No news out of Hampton, Robbins has committed again as of yesterday. No one has come out that i know of. Still tracking nicely for 2011.

BS, this cannot be right.:eek::eek:

The following extract from HR website when Robbins stood down stating he did it for personal reasons and looking forward to playing for HR in 2011.

look at all those positive and committed statements from the legend - i just can;t believe he would turn his back on them like this.

Just can't believe he would embarrass the President, Committee etc like this.

Robbins stands down, set to play in 2011
Thursday 19th August 2010 01:37 PM

Hampton Rovers senior coach Matthew Robbins has reluctantly stood down from his position but is set to pull on the green and gold and play for the Rovers in 2011.

A number of factors have forced Matthew to make this difficult decision one year into his two year agreement with the club.

The committee has been delighted with the performance of Matthew in his first year of coaching senior football and is understanding and fully supportive of his decision.

The club is excited to announce Matthew will continue his involvement with the Hampton Rovers in 2011 in a playing capacity, with the former Western Bulldogs star confirming he will wear the green and gold next year after one season off.

Robbins said, “It is purely for personal reasons that I have decided not to coach and I wish the new coach well, he’s got a great team to work with. I am looking forward to concentrating on playing next year and helping the Rovers on the field”.

Cardio, you should have learnt from last season, you need to get the information from the horses mouth and not from heresay. Received a message from Matty last night and he is signing on this week and the clearance will be submitted when the VAFA commences clearances. Bedford was a little too quick on his post. Sorry Bedford, Matty is still on board with the Rovers for 2011.

Looking forward to 2011, let's hope we keep it to footy.

Any word on any other signings from other clubs in the preseason.

Yeah fair call LF.

I obviously got caught up in Bedford (C-Grade) and BS ill-informed comments.

Great that he is still on board
