well he wouldn't make our defence so to us it doesn't really matter how he performs there. good for him but we of course we're not gonna bump the thread. when he goes and gets 5-10 clearances 10 contested possies and proves his kicking under pressure i'll bump the thread and say i miss him and i think most are the same.

31 touches, 7 marks and 5 tackles in a loss tonight. Arguably the tigers best.

Nice try, go start a gameday thread for next weekend on the DT board.

As I predicted is tearing it up. Great pick up by the Tigers. Fortunately we should be able to and are covering him. Would be great to have him on one flank with Stanton on the other though.

What other purpose would you have to bump this thread?

I found it interesting how everyone was happy to have seen him gone and judged this off one or two games. Now that he has had a good stint of games and is playing good footy the thread goes silent.

Think it has more to do with his treatment at Essendon rather than recruiting. I could be wrong though maybe he has grown as a player and a person.

Good for him but Hird wanted him to stay and Houli left for the money. What could we have done?

Bit simplistic to say Houli left solely for money.

He may have received a higher base salary at Richmond - But ultimately left because he wanted to play more senior footy = which ultimately means more money.

It was a wise career move.

I think the damage might have been done before Hird took over. Richmond presented a pay rise and most likely a guaranteed spot in the side.

From what I understand Richmond had a clear position for him and he had already committed to Richmond before Hird was appointed and did not want to back out.

I was and still am disappointed we lost him but that is all in the past now.

Has played quite a few games like that for Essendon over the years.

Is currently playing well though. Is he still dishing off those hospital hand passes?

Fortunately no.

What he is doing is taking the ball regularly from the defensive 50 and spearing it into the forward 50.

Oh, the funny thing for mine, is some of the old timers are comparing him to Clay. Not sure if he will get to his status in the game, but still a great compliment. Along with Helbig, great pickup.

See what happens when he has a coach that believes in him?

From what I have seen of him this year, he's pretty much playin gthe same as he did for us. He's a good consitent ball winner and has a very penetrating kick. He still is an average tackler and panicks. He certainly has enough going for him to be a very good player, and i suspect he will be for Richmond. Losing Houli is nothing to slit our rist over, but he would have been a very good player for us if the previous coaching panel was competent and fair.

Cant we put this to bed ?
Fact, maybe he should of got a better go last year but that was last year.
Fact, we wanted him to stay.
Fact, he wanted to go because the money was better.
Fact, he was always going to be a handy player and play a few games.
Fact, he still does the same things wrong under pressure.
Fact, he is hardly the missing cog in our side.

Just get over it. Yes he will keep playing ok for the Tigers but i am more than happy with Heppel , Hardingham and Hibberd running off the half back line thanks !
