no he was on power for the most part. he moved into the midfield at times but he was mainly on power.

decent game all and all but he didn't do much that me wish he was still at the club. credit to him, he was smart enough to hand-ball it in press situations and kick it when he got himself free in space and free from pressure

but it's worth noting his two best performances for richmond so far have been in wins just like how his two best performances for essendon were in easy 50 point wins. and that's why i'm not sad he's gone. let's see him play those games in loses. then i might change my tune

I heard a stat last week that it was the first time since 2007 he had played 5 games in a row. Its a shame a former hero of his current club was his biggest hinderance.

Some of those handballs tonight, jeez almost Jobe Watson like. Playing some great football.

hahahahahaha oh man. how long are we gonna blame knights for everything that went wrong at essendon for the past three years? it wasn't knights fault that houli got injured a fair bit, or that houli's kicking went to crap when pressured and that he couldn't hand-ball under pressure and that his tackling was shit. jesus christ. maybe houli didn't play 5 games in a row because he didn't deserve too?

nah **** that it was knights fault. **** KNIGHTS FOREVER!!!!!!!!!

It took him 3 games back to back to start performing for Richmond, for us he got 5 games in the whole season.

Considering how crap we were last year, he should've got way more chances than that. He was also dropped after 1 bad game(when he was one of the BOG the week before).

Not going to say anything about Knights coaching in the past few years but when it came to Houli it's like he didn't care about him.

Think you are too harsh Kelvin in this one

I think Houli is just getting better and better.

I've decided not to watch because as I said in previous posts this year and last.. I think this might just be the most costly thing about Knights reign.

Seasons come and go and it looks like we are heading for as speedy recovery in that regard. The crowds will always come back and a game style can always be learnt.

The one thing we can't get back is players, there is a reason that Hird made a personal appointment with bachar as one of his first items of business and we would be stupid to ignore it. I don't think Houli will ever be A+ but he is a solid B and has the potential to be a A or A- midfielder. may (maybe) end up better than Stanton who has been given all the chances in the world.

It was NOT injury that kept him out most of last year and the year before but inept coaching and PREJUDICE by the selection committee. I'm glad (in a very annoyed and sad way) that Bachar is getting the chance to settle in and play some good footy for the tigers.. he will be an asset for a long time.

He was pretty good last night and has been handy throughout but at the end of the day would he currently be playing in our side ?

As far as inept selection goes well maybe it is possible that he actually learnt something from it and it has been reinforced at Richmond and that is you can not ski down hill all day and expect a regular game at AFL level.

Anyway he left for the dollars and an extra year and not any Essendon issue.

Honestly: try find a finals side where he'd get a game. Just too flawed.

Has had his good games this year & plenty of bad, scared, sloppy moments too; same old same old.

Exactly and he will continue to be handy for the Tigers without being one of their key players the same as he would have been for us.

Geez hasn't this thread gone quiet.

In some great form, disposal has been lovely. Really shocking results when you give a talented youngster a good run of games with a coach that believes in his ability.

didn't really notice him against us. haven't really noticed the other times i've seen him recently. not watching tonight (ew port) but there hasn't been one time this season i've thought "gee houli would be handy".

and he did get a good run of games- at bendigo. not our fault if he wasn't good enough in them.

Huh?

I claimed after his round 1 game in 2008 that he would win a Brownlow one day. I was a massive fan of his and he didn't live up to my expectations at Essendon. If he does well at Richmond, great, but I don't care.

If you go back and read what you said "We don't care", then you might understand what I said.
