All i am going to say is, a dissapointing way to finish. We didn't turn up after half time, but i half expected this.

We will now finish 10th i think, and when you look at the ladder at the end of the year it will show another wasted season.

So CC's record is now:

2002 : 12th
2003: 5th
2004: 9th
2005: 9th/10th

I know everyone will have their own opinion on our season, but after last weeks win it was not a good way to bow out.

Goodnight 2005

Another "b*****" failed year. IMO too many supporters are prepared to accept this.

Time to fully acknowledge that CC is useless as a football coach and will take us anyhere. He has had his opportunity and has failed again. It is time to GET RID OF HIM.

Any concerns that CC is better than some untried coach - look at Adelaide with Neil Craig.

CC stays - there is very little hope for next year and it will be the same thing - failure. With a new coach, there is hope and ethusiasm which is badly needed at the club.

Even when we had won 5 in a row i still didn't rate CC, and i still said he is not the man for the job. I think a lot switched to being back with CC, after tonight a lot will have changed ship. I haven't changed ship at any time.

He won't be sacked yet, if they start next season poorly he'll be struggling. The players need to take some responsibility as well, a lot of players variation in form has a way to big a gap. But i don't think Connelly is ever going to do anything great while hes the Coach, who's available, Ayres, Sumich, O'donnell, Harvey etc.

Some very strange match ups tonight. Why would you play Cook on Pearce who is quick and Walker on Pickett who is strong? Surely the other way around would have made more sense. Pavlich should have been moved into the middle at half time, not with 8 minutes to play and a 40 point deficit. The Cornes boys carved us up, it would have been nice to see them tagged instead of raking up possessions at will. We could have easily been 4-5 goals up at half time, after the long break Port smashed us and deserved the win but we were convincingly beaten in the coaching box which isn't new.

10th is the best Freo can get!
The thing is, in five years time when you look back at our season you will forget about how good our second half of the season was. You will look and see 10th and think another medicore year.

I think we all had high expectations in 2002, and we where all prepared for this great journey, and 3 years later we are going around inc circles

The difference between our best and worst performances can also be a coaching issue. It's the coaches job to motivate the playing group and whatever Connolly said at half time it either wasn't the right message or it didn't get through. The same applies to the derby and several other games this season.

Every team has their ups and downs but you can often tell within 5 minutes if Freo are swithed on or not. It was clear early in the third quarter that we were in trouble. The playing group need to work on their concentration and take some responsibility like you said, but Connolly has shaped this list and any issues are his to solve. The crows and bulldogs have shown this season how much a playing group can improve with a competent coach.

You're definately right. People can blame injuries or a tough draw or whatever they like, but we've seen that our best is good enough to match anyone, anywhere. Even when we were really struggling with injury the young players were doing their job and the 22 each week still looked like a handy side. The inconsistent performances of our senior players and coaching staff is the reason why we have had another poor year. Two bad seasons in a row should make a coaches position vulnerable but thanks to his buddy Schwab it won't be.

The bulk of our list are signed until the end of 2007. Now is the time to replace the coach to give whoever comes in time to settle while most of our players are locked away. If CC was to leave at the end of 2006 or 2007 we may see a mass exodus of players sick of mediocrity. It's going to be a very long pre-season for the players, coaching staff and supporters of the Fremantle Football Club.

If CC is still there, I won't be. I used to love my football and loved following and watching Freo as an AFL team, in the hope that it could be what South & East have been to Fremantle over the years.

I see CC as the main problem with our continual failure and there is very little improvement over the last two years. He does not have the ability to unite and motivate the players to be top 4 competitive football team

With him there I no longer get the same enjoyment that I used too. Above all I cannot stand his dribble and rubbish.

What annoys me most about CC is the dribble that comes out of his mouth. He never gives us members and supporters anything new, i think i must have heard him say this saying 15 times this year

" the thing is, we are a young group and we haven't played our best footy yet, and that is exciting"

There are a host more, but he says the same things over and over again. It gets me frustrated and i am sure it annoys many others. I used to listen to his press conference, now there isn't any point. If you want to know what he said look at what he said the week before, and the week before that, it's all the same.

Another thing that worries me was looking at Pav after tonights loss, to me his body language looked like " get me out of here, i can't stand this crap anymore, no more contracts at freo"

If he goes, well i don't even want to think about that, whoever got him his current contract would be a genius.

I suspect we won't hear much from Dwayo anymore this season.

Grizzle grizzle grizzle.

I am as gutted as anyone but their is not much the coach could have done when the same high profile players go missing again (just like the EF in 2003) in make or break games.

I will post my votes and that is all I will post until I sober up and calm down.

Actually he used to say the Fremantle job was the most exciting job in the AFL. He doesn't say that anymore.

Wonder what Des did to get the treatment dished out to him tonight. He will need therapy after tonights game. From what I saw he handled to events well. Congratulations Des for not going absolutly ballistic.

Sorry to say I did not have your control.

Don't think we will do that much unless someone exceptional comes up which is unlikely.

The only dud there is Schoey and he cost us nothing, the rest have been good although D.J. has taken a while to adjust to not having it fed to him on a plate, I believe he will be worth it in the long term.

We are better off getting some games into who we have IMO and drafting for the future again as we did in 2003.

Not attempting to hijack this thread but Neil Craig is not some football unknown, despite Victorian media attempts to present him this way. His football pedigree in SA is top shelf.
If Freo has an ex WA champion and state player who has taken a top WAFL team to a premiership and now has several years of well respected assistant coaching experience at Freo - by all means give CC the boot and appoint him.

One word .. Good Ridance - perhaps you need another outlet - try the Eagles.

Never a positive word to say about Freo. I can appreciate disappointment, anger and being disatisfied with performances but balance and objectiveness and give credit with credit due.
