Yeah should have had 3 premierships by now.
Pathetic.
Nevermind the fact that last year was the first year we've actually had a team capable of winning games.
no matter what, Bailey has to perform well above previous years - otherwise it is chopped liver for the bloke.Exactly.
I'll be saving my sack the coach tirades until at least after round one![]()

LOL @ this thread.
Direct response to losing against the BL in a NAB challenge match.
This sort of knee-jerk reaction is what bad clubs do.
Indeed. Everyone needs to let these ******ed threads fall to the bottom of the pile.
Wrong, it's a response to a coach that's had 4 preseasons at the helm and still hasn't shown that he can implement a successful gameplan or motivate players.LOL @ this thread.

Nobody really cares about the result of a NAB challenge match, but ffs, after 6 months of training you'd imagine that the team could play cohesive football. And trust me, we did want to win the game against Essendon, yet the opposition were more focussed, and the Bailey was outcoached by a 1 game novice.
Bailey is incompetent as a tactical coach and it's about time that the club starts putting the heat on him.
Some interesting comments about Bailey here that was on aflpodcast.com last week after the bombers game

At what point in his fourth year as coach are you happy to have supporters and the wider footy community assess his record ?
No babbling, just name a round.
Btw, don't assume I'm being critical of him, it's just that (unlike you) I have no issue with an on-going assessment of his merits, or otherwise.
Except that this thread shows up a day after a loss to BL in a NAB challenge match.
You can play it off as if this was four years coming, but if we won yesterday this thread wouldn't exist.

You're probably right. I like it when coaches are put under the pump for bad coaching even when they win, but it's rare. And can you imagine the responses it would generate ? You'd be referred to as someone that could never be pleased.
I'm not fussed about the loss, but I am fussed about the side being poorly drilled when it comes to defending. You don't need talent to set-up properly.
Talking Tactics: We played with no forward line for 3 quarters - 0 players in our forward 50 - and when it was shown time and time again not to work there was no change made! Bails got the boys to play on to advantage at all costs and when they reached the centre of the ground there was literally NO ONE to kick too. This eneded up in turnovers and players being forced to bomb it to advantage or out of play. It was terrible.
Effort Shmeffort: One team walked out to play today. Two-thirds of the boys were slow and looked almost disinterested. Unfortunately, most of those players weren't in our top 22 and when they should've been grabbing the opportunity they sat back like passengers.
The way I see Baileys future if Melbourne finishes (depending on things like injuries):
1-4: A dream result for Melbourne. Will get very lucrative contract extension of 3 years.
5-6: Exceeded expectations. Will get a contract extension.
7-9: Met expectations. In a very safe place.
10-12: Below expectations. Expect him to coach next year. But if Melbourne doesn't make the finals in 2012 then he's gone.
13-17: A very poor result for what Melbournes list is capable of. A very good chance he won't coach next year.
This thread is crap...give to the Queens bday and if we are not 4/6or 5/5 the pressure should be applied to Dean.the way Todd Vineys goin he wont be able fit fit in the coaches box hes that big.i thought he had swallowed a bean bag or something...very nice bloke though got some nice photos with him and my girls yesty..Wrong, it's a response to a coach that's had 4 preseasons at the helm and still hasn't shown that he can implement a successful gameplan or motivate players.
