The Lord Of The Rings Mueller Report GIF by reactionseditor

Not sure I have Completionist++ in me but man that's satisfying.

Was a bug too, I won the final gold but had to win more run on white stake for the achievement to unlock which was random.

I enjoy the game but there is something I am clearly missing. I can't even beat the level 1 decks. 3 wins from god knows how many games.

I thought that was just me. I've won on a few but can't get past the red stake on most.

It doesn't feel like it should be that hard and yet I get nowhere near most games.

One of my all time favourite games got my last Joker gold sticker in Feb to complete Completionist++ in about 370 hours

Biggest hardest achievement was definitely gold stake black deck. Never again

Jokerless challenge was fine

Completionist + was fine
Completionist ++ was fine
Gold stake black deck can **** right off

what jokers do you tend to gravitate to when you play?

Once you understand how the 3 types of jokers work together in +mult, xmulti & chips you’ll crush those early decks

I generally let the first few jokers I get decide my style for the run. However I do find myself aiming for something to make flushes easier. For example the joker that makes clubs and spades the same suit and hearts and diamonds the same suit. Pair that with some other joker that increases mult for every flush played or the one that allows you to make flushes with 4 instead of 5 cards. I probably just don't have enough grasp on the +mult, xmulti & chips differences and I definitely ignore standard cards. Like I very rarely get new cards and just play with the standard (but upgraded) 52 card deck.

The best tip I can give for early decks is ordering your Jokers! Their perks apply from left to right and it's important to have your +mults left of your xmults (order of chip boosters aren't as important). You can also order cards in your hand, which can help.

Eg.
Base mult 4:
+mult 10, then xmult 2x -> 28 mult
xmult 2x, then +mult 10 -> 18 mult

Try get a balance of all 3 boosters.

Later decks/stakes, you want to build money boosters in as well.

Oh god, I'm a freakin moron. Haha. I'm like Quivorir and Jatz that I don't really get anywhere on the basic decks either.

Thanks heaps for the tip!

Next time you play just try making sure you have one of each type of +multi xmulti & chip joker. Try to do this as much as you can each run you do. You’ll quickly learn why each are important by doing this each time

Xmulti is the best type, so more of that the better. Like sixpence points out, make sure xmulti is on the far right

Plasma deck took me the longest, just got no luck from rng for ages, then finally have the perfect build and get hit with an extra large blind. Did Black a while ago but do remember it being painful.

Perhaps that's my problem, I'm always looking for 'x' jokers, rather than a mixture of both.
yep xmult on it's own is not very useful. It's just maths

for example

a base pair with no jokers is
10 chips +2 mult = 20

a base pair with x3 mult joker is
10 chips +2 mult X3 multi = 60 - still a very low scoring hand

But then look at the difference with two very common jokers like:
HALF JOKER (+20 mult for less than 3 cards played)
&
ODD TODD (+31 chips for each odd numbered card)

72 chips + 22 mult x 3 multi = 4,752

Common jokers doesn't mean bad, and rare joker doesn't mean good. Just gotta find jokers that work together.

And then are you trying to upgrade via planets/extra cards/tarots specifically? I always take the Spectral's when they're on offer.

Planet cards- Make a huge difference provided you're sticking to a played hand strategy. They're a bit boring when you're new to the game because you don't obviously see the difference.

If you're playing pairs stick to buying or choosing pair planet cards. If you're playing flushes stick to picking flush planet cards. Don't try and upgrade all hand types evenly.

Tarots - handy. the benefits of those are obvious in giving you permanent upgrades to specific cards, or giving you money.

spectral cards - powerful with downsides. So use on a case by case basis. Turning a joker negative is great but having one less card in your hand is diffcult when you're trying to play flushes. One less card when you're playing pairs though is probably worth it.

Copying a joker and destroying all other jokers? Brilliant if you've got one strong joker, now you've got two of them. Got three strong jokers? probably not worth it

sometimes powerful with big upside though. Say you've got credit card joker and are -$20 in debt and you get the spectral card that gives you a rare joker and sets your money to $0, it means you get a rare joker plus get paid $20

I think it's normal to go through ruts too. While you get better at building decks it's still very RNG based. I know when I'm going through a rough patch it's mostly because I'm trying to force builds whether the jokers are falling or not and it might take me a while to realise I'm doing it.

Fffuuuuuuuu

Playing Black Deck/Green Stake, get to the boss of ante 8 and crash out. Felt good on that run, but the boss was the one that disabled a joker each hand. Really needed all of them to get through.

Still getting screwed on the Black Deck/Green Stake. Played it like 100 times. Get good runs but always something that's missing that stuffs me up. I refuse to move on!
Finally got the bastard! Now to just do that 5 more increasingly harder times ...

Gold stake will have you questioning your sanity.

I have completionist ++ which is winning a gold run with every joker and I can tell you completing black deck gold stake once was the worst gaming day of my life

This is the stupidest run I've had on blue. Nothing meaningful dropped to synergise with and by ante 6 I was still trying to work out what I was building towards. It felt like a complete arse because not once did it get sweaty and I even nuked my 2 pair hand rank by not paying attention to a boss blind. Needless to say this run fell apart the very next ante lol.

This game is very addictive.
I was playing the Chips get Richer challenge where the max chips that score can't exceed what you have in your bank. Anyway, I'm spamming Two Pairs, get up to $500 or something, then comes the Ox boss blind (Playing your most played hand sets money to $0) then I subconsciously play a two pair, and set my bank to zero.
Game over. 🤦‍♂️
