Maybe give the bacon a miss at the hotels too. Not sure what cut of the pig they use here.

Whats the current sentence for smoking a joint?I still don't get why people love going to Bali when this sh!t happens. Clearly massacres is considered a less serious crime than drugs in Indonesia. Sure drugs has a damaging impact to people and society but most users choose to take drugs. No one chooses to be massacred.

News of Bali bombmaker's sentence reduction 'kick in the guts' for survivors
Survivors of the 2002 Bali bombings that killed more than 200 people, including 88 Australians, have spoken out about their distress over news terrorist Umar Patek could have his prison sentence cut just weeks from the terror attack's 20th anniversary.www.abc.net.au
Been a few times now but the lads want to go for an end of season trip.Anyone been to Bali recently? Went and had a bloody blast. Already planning on going back. Stayed in Seminyak
Did get sick for a day - vomitting and diarrohea. Rang the Doctor straight away, had an injection, took some of the tablets and was good to go the next day. No issues there.
Some recommendations:
Finns Beach Club - Amazing vibe. Not too expensive. If you're into partying this is a MUST.
Mrs Sippy - Nice pool club, good vibes, high diving board. Nice cocktails and pizzas.
Motel Mexicola - Night club. Heaps of Aussies. Easy to pick up. Retro music. Good fun. Nice food.
La Favela - Another cool night club. Had a good time here but it gets PACKED.
Potato Head - Nice chilled pool club, super relaxing.
Quad biking - one of the coolest things I've ever done.
Santorini - nice greek food. Can get a souvlaki for $5 Australian if you go on the right night.
GOAT pub - HUGE food. Parmas, ribs etc. Owned by an Aussie bloke.
Grilld - had a nice burger here.
Espresso Bar Breaky - best breakfast I've ever had.
Waterbomb Park - Good fun, also has a pool bar which I spent most of my time at.
Amazing trip.
Its good for 4 or 5 days. Spending more time than that around Legian or seminyak can really play on ones nerves with the pushiness of the locals. But you are right regarding the local cuisine - $2 or $3 for a rice/chicken dish at a warung is pretty good value for money, as opposed to a maccas run which is bland in anyones booksGot back from a week in Bali recently as someone who's lived abroad and traditionally thumbed my nose at visiting bogan Mecca.
My partner and I stayed at a resort in Nusa Dua for the week. The food was bang average, the Bintangs were surprisingly delicious but overpriced in the resort (20k locally vs 80k in the resort), but it was warm, affordable and the staff were lovely, which makes me appreciate why people visit.
With my very limited experience for the Nusa Dua region I'd say get out and visit more local restaurants as soon as possible, tip the local staff and taxis 50k as often as possible, and appreciate it's a ~6 hour flight from Melbourne rather than 9+ hours to SEA.
I'm going for the first time in nearly 40 years this July. One week in Seminyak, one week in Nusa Dua.I don’t know how people go to Bali so often. It bores me now.
Here now and this is number 17. We try and get over most years for a week and that’s enough to relax and charge the batteries. We always book 2 lots of OS holidays minimum per year and we try to plan that every second year we have a week in Bali at some stage during the year and then 6 weeks in Europe. On the other years we try to do a week in Bali and 2-3 weeks in SEA.I don’t know how people go to Bali so often. It bores me now.
