Fremantle second-year player Harley Balic has been granted an indefinite leave of absence from the club.

“The club and Harley have agreed that it is in his best long-term interest to take a leave of absence to deal with a personal issue,” General manager of football operations Chris Bond said.

“As we do with all of our players, we will continue to provide Harley with all the support and resources that he requires.

“Harley has acquitted himself well in four games for Fremantle since making his debut in round three this season and we look forward to his future contribution to the club.”

There will be no further comment from the club on this matter.

s**t.... Hope the poor bugger is okay.

Let's not freak out. This could be anything from home-sickness to something much, much more serious.

Speculation is pointless.

If it's this trade him for a second and move on.

Can we actually get a break with any of these kids. JFC

Well... We do pretty well when it comes to homesickness to be fair.

Dat retention rate.

Be kinda ironic if we take a punt on a talented but injured player again but this time we actually get the injury right and he's fit and playing!... But now homesick.

I doubt its home sickness. Probably something much worse to be granted indefinite leave. Such as an illness in the family.
