The ball up was a balls up which caused Ball to go up to the tribunal and get a week! The ump is to blame, stuffed the bounce and stood underneath it, what the hell is the ruckman supposed to do!?! 
Picture a similar bounce in a semi-final/prelim final and the outcry if your No.1 ruckman was to be reported on a similar charge. Now, what would be the outcry if they were to be suspended and miss say a GF for something as innocuous as that!?!
The Swans should appeal and Ball should be cleared, its the ump that should be sent bush until he learns to bounce the bloody thing right, either that, or throw the damn thing up and to hell with tradition, soon the bullets going to have to be bitten.
Bloody disgrace.

Well said Grendal, I can't believe Ball received a week for that...and then what really p!ssed me off was UDC claiming that players were deliberately targeting umpires!!! If I was Jason Ball I would be furious that someone had even accused him of deliberately aiming for the umpire.
Does anyone apart from UDC and the umpires themselves believe that players go, "Oh beauty, here's my chance, I'll give umpire 26 a little knock just to remind him who's boss around here". What a load of rubbish. As good as it is for the Hawks, I think it sux that Ball will miss a game due to complete incomptence from the duds in white and through little fault of his own.
Meanwhile, Maxfield gets cleared for cleaning up a player after he took the mark, what was the difference between that and Ben Johnson??

What a joke the umpire stuffed the bounce up and the player is penalised.Hopefully the Swans will appeal but probably a waste of time
