I reckon the three year deals are to help juggling the the cap for the big money signings with the removal of the veterans' allowance. When asked about his contract a few weeks ago, he didn't give off the vibe he was thinking of leaving; said he was just waiting for his manager to tell him it was time to sign and he would sign. :)

Which player is this? Ballantyne or Fyfe?

Well, basically 4 years, but not unreasonable. Highly unlikely to be pushed out of best 22 and that period is likely his peak as footballer.
Yeah.I am not questioning signing him up. But I did think that these days 3 years is a long contract. All good as far as I can see.

Great stuff, good to see Hayden still stay local for alot longer.

When i use to work with him (while he was playing Wafl, year he won the Sandover), he was getting flown over to have talks with scouts from Richmond and Collingwood. He was never gonna leave the west, he was saying worse case scenario he would go east, but its fortunate that Freo signed him up and he has delivered.

Wait why are they removing the veterans allowance? Is it to punish tge larger clubs or something.

That's great, firstly that Balla's hanging around for the long haul, but also the more that extend/sign on the easier it gets to lock down the big ones in Fyfe and Mundy.
