Docker for life basically now - great result. I expect he'll be veteran status by the time his contract ends too. I cant believe he's 26 - he looks like hes still one of the 2nd-3rd year players.

I couldn't imagine Ballas ever moving to another club considering 90% of the AFL hates him.
Believe me, if Ballas put his hand up to play for another side they'd take him. And that club's fans would love him.

The reputation he once had still lingers a little, but the only people it really matters to is Freo fans and he's thankfully cleaned up the little moments of filthy play he'd have. I remember going to a game at Subi when I was still in WA. This was Rossco's first season and right when Ballas was cleaning himself up. There was a bit of a jumper punch and so they sent a runner out to tell Ballas he was coming off – as soon as he got to the interchange gates, they said "nah mate, sorry." All it was, was a plan to get him out of a situation he'd do something dumb in. I thought that was really smart.

Now he just runs himself absolutely stupid – he and Mayney's pressure make me genuinely proud of the side.

Yeah but why would he ever want to when he has knobs from other teams celebrating him getting chinned by Scarlett on social media.

Although half of them were no-names who've probably been delisted by now.

Gold Coast's Trent McKenzie tweeted: "Matthew Scarlett did a favour for most people #lethimoff"

Port Adelaide's Alipate Carlile tweeted: "Matty Scarlett just done what a lot of other footballers would love to do #brilliant."

I had to google them to see what they looked like. Basically shit players who wouldn't even get a game at Freo.

Yeah fair points - Mackenzie has got a big left boot and nothing much more to note. He's been found out now hes been in the system for more than a year.

I remember i found it funny that Lyon took exception to McKenzie's tweet as we played GC the week after i think.

I love his enthusiasm in the interview.

“I love the club, I love everything about it,” he said.

“I’m really happy that my family and I are staying here for another three years.

“This is my job, this is what I get paid to do and I’m very happy that the club has a lot of faith in me to be here for another three years to play some good football.”

The 26-year-old said there was so much to like about Fremantle that it made his decision to sign a very easy one.

“We have such a strong culture, we have great leaders, great coaches and it’s such a great club to be at,” he said.

“I love coming in to work every day and doing what we do.

“It’s a no brainer, I’m happy here.”

He wouldn't have served the 10 years required to get veteran status. It's the one disadvantage of players that started as mature agers.
