Just found this on the BFL webiste. Article about Lions signing Jay Cheep

A quote from the article "Midfielder Simon Clarke and ruckman Pat Cariss also signed new deals with the Lions this week"

Well there you go - Sunba will be similar in 2011. Cheep is more than a replacement for Smith. Will be interesting to see if the new Sunba coach bring any players from Taylor's Lakes or Keilor. I have heard of one player from Lakers but that player was a fringe player that played alot of two's game. If they are fringe in B grade EDFL they will have little impact in the BalFL.

Seen a little bit of Taylors Lakes last year and they were just a good even side with not many stand outs besides De Sousa, so if he brings any players besides hum they will be nothing to get excited about.

Morelli would be handy and the Cantamelli brothers would also like the big Sunba ground. But I agree - recruiting from Lakers won't impact unless they got Sharky. Maybe he can get some Keilor players??

Sutton and Thomas to Modda with his old coach:eek::eek::eek:,new incoming coach doesn't want Sutton as captain or anywhere near his leadership group:thumbsdown::thumbsdown::thumbsdown:not a good start for the panthers and you might see Draca heading to Centrals :D:D:D

Sutton & Thomas not confirmed at Modda as yet. Thomas sighned only on the proviso that Sutton was going there but as of yesterday still has'nt sighned. Dracca won't go to Central's . Dracca will be captain of Melton South. Melton South have alot of problems and will be battling it out with Sebastapol for the wooden spoon. Sadly!!!

Congratulations to Isaac Smith on going from the BFL to a first round draft pick in a year. It is a good advertisment for the league you would think.

Shannon Milward is coaching koondrook/ barham in central murray league.

Rumoured to be keen to take some of younger lions that were boarder line for the trip.

Romsey in the RDFL to looking to acquire some of the services of the Lions boys from last year too.

Hasnt been much talk about pick ups at all down this way other than Jay Cheep.

Darley will regain Hassent and Seaben in 2011 after they have both been overseas for the best part of 2 years. Were crucial in the Devils 2008 grand final year.

gee go away for a little bit and get back to find out that Melton South commitee has ripped the guts out of the place
lost players lost coaches
heading in a new direction

not waving drowning ??

mcleod / pritchard / christofaro / charge/ sikorski and morcome
big overhaul on scoble and what he needs to do to move fwd as coach in 2011
forced him out

since then its been a good move no players commiting or being recruited no players at preseason no coaching staff other than the new coach
and none of the above to be seen to answer questions ??
big voices little ideas
rally the troops to dig them out the s**t early next year if they survive the xmas break

top up the bloods reserves if you want boys head up the road

Should have made the move to the RDFL. At least in a the lower level of competition they could win games - maybe even play finals.

even if they can field a team next year they will be the worst side the bfl has seen in 10 years

Thats a big call - Sebas in 2005 did not win a game and ended up with a % of 32.99%. South will have to be very very bad to achieve worse than this. Maybe they can aim for a % of 33%. Would hate to see Sebas lose their crap title.

it is 2 believe that scoble was offered the job again but he wanted an extra 15-20 grand 2 spend on players, but the club said they did not have the money so he resigned

He was expected to make finals and reduce player payments. Mission impossible which will be clear by season end. South will fighting with Sebas and the Marsh for the wooden spoon.

Weymouth, McMahon, Pike, Foster, McGuigan, Page leaving Lakers Plus an exodous of 2's players, definitely more to follow, 3 out of those 6 senior players are thier best 3

Former San Diego Chargers' linebacker Shawne Merriman just signed at Darley, trained the house down last week. Will dominate. Get around him.

Will be unstoppable with Calvin Hassent.

Kyle Doyle has also bulked up a lot over the off season. Will play key position for the Devils in 2011.

Mike 'The Situation' Sorrentino just signed up on the Darley Football Club board as the Social Coordinator. He will be running and hosting events at the Darley Social Club over the course of the season. He can't make it to training, so will not be playing seniors, but may fill in with the reserves from time to time.

Great addition to the club. Things are looking great for the Devils in 2011.

Why waste your time with these silly posts? Things are looking great for the devils in 2011? i dont think so...the only additions your club will get are a few 2nds players returning from up the highway! No ex AFL stars heading to the devils den this year?...to keep up the urch, edwards tradition. save a bit of money this year and rebuild!

It is the year of the cobra...a club wich knows which direction it is heading, on the way up.
