One of the worst umpires ever to umpire a senior game on weekend at nth city v Melton south got in the way of players and fell over and stoped play atleast 8 times

I think Redan are the best side in the comp, with Sunbury not far behind.

The comp is pretty even though, see by the results on the weekend, and there could be one of these sides to sneak into the GF

The Ballarat League Umpires should be able to get Redan over the line in Firsts, Reserves and Under 18s - the umpiring is seriously the most biased and bare faced favouritism I have ever seen - it was so blatantly obvious last weekend as to be laughable - the Ballarat Umpires should be ashamed of themselves.

Its been how many years since Sunbury the meltons and the marsh sides went to Ballarat that you would think that they would have learnt that they are not going to get a free kick and just play the footy and win it on their own merit. Every time i have a look on here they are sooking bout the umps didn't give a free kick

Gissy struggled with bias early but it never got to the level of the Ballarat umpires. In a close game 42 frees to 17 is just plain cheating. When a DVD was sent on 22 of the frees - 16 could not be justified. This is in a final - they can't win it on their own merit - they need to be 6 goals better to be a 50/50 chance.

Gday fellas need a bit of inside info
A bus load of junior coaches from geelong are heading up to watch Ballarat v Redan on Sat to have look at some footy anyone got any suggestions for first goal kicker and winning margin? Cheers boys

It's not just about not getting free kicks - its about not paying marks, it's about letting cheap shots go, it's about blatant bare faced cheating.

One day you may get your wish and you may not have the Sunbury, Melton, Bacchus Marsh sides playing in the BFL - so then you can have your dream of a boutique BFL competition of 5 or 6 sides playing with themselves 3 times a during the home and away season - that would really confuse the BFL umpires.

It was a pretty close result first time around, so could be again. Ballarat had a loss last week and Redan beat the second placed Sunbury by 9 goals, so that would suggest Redan is in better form at the moment though...
First goalkicker possibilities for Redan: Riordan, Bell, Phelps, Chester, D Horbury, Barker. the goals have been shared around a bit this year.

just heard another classic example of that cheating, drew edwards from darley was given 5 weeks for a good hard bump after he was charged by the match reveiw panel aron nunn, who plays with the fella who copped the bump,he was supposedly carrying a broken jaw but he was still able to sing the ballarat fella who was picked up in the same evidence was given 1 week for elbowing edwards to the jaw before the bump with edwards it was this ballarat players second appearance in 4 weeks already copping a week off 4 weeks ago so you judge for yourself how can they blatantly cheat like that and get away with it

Agree franky, this league is a farce, what happened this week is simply an injustice. Who are these tribunal fossils accountable to? If darley appeal and drew gets off, which he should, everyone should be sacked. This can not keep going on.
Every week the eastern teams face umpires who blatantly cheat and once or twice a year cop ridiculous penalties at the tribunal, whilst players from ballarat get nothing.
This league is a joke.

Reminds me off when Callum Urch got 6 weeks a few years back for doing a FAR lot less than edwards did, against Ballarat i might add. I wasnt Urchs biggest fan but that penalty was laughable.

The ballarat football club are liars. They ask the league to investigate incidents and lie their asses off, just for their own amusement. They know that we cannot defend ourselves because the system is a joke. Only one side of the story is ever believed.

Probably need to get a representation of eastern and western bloc clubs on the tribunal and all other matters, not just a bunch of relics from Ballarat who have ingrained bias against the eastern sides.

The BFL is a joke - Mark Power was involved in an incident at the Marsh mid season. The BFL investigated the incident and decided to wait until the last round (8 weeks later) to charge Power with striking. He was given 4 weeks which ruled him out for the finals series. They only had 1 witness - a Marsh committee man that was 80 metres away from the incident.

Any way - Sunbury brought in Finaly and the VCFL threw the charge out after 6 minute of hearing the evidence.

I think you need to have attended clown college to serve on the BFL tribunal.

well maybe the non ballarat teams may have to join forces and let the league no that they wont stand for this shit any longer i seen a final between sunbury and redan and it sticks out like dogsballs that they favor a ballarat team they must think where all STUPID

Has gone on for far far too long mufassa. I am not denying the talent of redan or any club in being able to win a flag they are super sides and I have utmost respect for them. But you cannot tell me that it was or is not harder to win a flag if your an eastern bloc team because of this. I recall one day we at south played lakers at home 17 points up with 3 or 4 minutes left. What followed was 1 dodgy decision and 50m penalty for goal, I down field free kick for goal then in strangest decision I ever seen, our ruck man got paid a shep pard at the next centre clearance he stared at the ump and the ump gave a 50m penalty for a forceful stare he said, no language or anything, a forceful stare they kick goal siren goes we lose by point and miss finals by game. No accountability at all. I use to blame the bfl they always said umpires were independent of league but now I blame the clubs for continuing to cop it but maybe it is our clubs fault for not standing up for themselves. Maybe the bfl need us more than we need them?

All we want is a level playing field, where when you run out of the ground the best team will win. We do not get that opportunity. Biased umpires and a farce of a tribunal means we have to be a 5 goal better team to be a 50\50 chance of winning.
Hopefully something can be done to make the BFL listen. Changing leagues is not the answer, but it may be the only way to make our point. Because knowing the BFL we are just perceived as whining and sooking.

Watch both hits on the footage on the bfl home page and compare both. Ballarat player elbows Edwards to the jaw around the 11min mark of 2nd q. Then Edwards bumps the ballarat player at 16min mark of the same quarter. And take in to account that ballarat player Dawson was just 3 games back from a week ban. 5 to Edwards. 1 to Dawson. What a joke.
