FINALLY there's some calls to axe this moronic, pointless part of the game

It's so achingly stupid. Man tries (obviously in vain) to bounce a pointy oval ball straight up 10 metres, obviously fails, then blows whistle, everybody resets, just so he can do what he should have done and thrown it straight up so two ruckman can have an even contest... and you know, actually pit their skills and experience against each other.

How has it taken this long? Who goes to a game to watch a fluoro midget bounce a ball? We're there to see the players in action.

Yep, get rid of the bounce, while they're at tackling, kicking, hand passing. Mate, give it a rest supposedly it takes a toll on umpires.

Surely it's a part the glorious uncertainty of the game?

Or a ****in ridiculous anachronism when the bounce doesn't favour Mummy

No... it WAS

Now if it doesn't go up straight we just stop, and start again with a throw-up anyway!

"We'll only accept a straight elevation. Now do that in the most difficult way possible."

It's it the epitome of stupid.

Might as well ban the oval ball too as the way it bounces isn't predictable and leads to far more stoppages than needed.

Are we going to stop play and replay it if at any time it doesn't bounce like a round ball?

Because that's what we do with the bounce.

If so, yes, we should just ban the oval ball and get on with it.

We give free kicks against an oval ball bouncing the wrong way because of its shape.

So yeah, ban the oval ball, it's all its fault.

How many umpires now have bad backs from bouncing I wonder.

How many good umpires get kept from progressing to the AFL because they can't perform the skill? Not sure if as much an issue anymore as the bounce has been phased out but definitely used to be
