Talk to most aussie hiphop fans (who can't even differentiate between hiphop and rnb), and they will stare at you blankly when the words 'punchline', 'bar', 'multi-syllabic rhyming', and 'delivery' are used. At least a high proportion of the yanks that claim to be fans of the genre have some form of clue about these things.

The main thing that has pleased me about hiphop in the mainstream in recent years is that it seems as though more people continue to get sick ot the try-hard gangsta promotion bullshit and are appreciating the alternative hiphop styles where the subject matter is actually worth listening to.

OK, well I'm an Australian who is a fan of Hip Hop and also a fan of Aussie Hip Hop. A lot more love for Aussie Hip Hop, but i do love the non-violent hip hop groups like Ugly duckling and J5, but I also like the "gangsta" hip hop like NWA and Snoop etc.

I find it odd that you think the hip hop scene is shit because people don't know about music.. Surely if you like how something sounds then thats a good enough reason to like it?

I do agree that some people are attracted to it just because of the bad ass image associated with it, which is what makes it shit. Surely that isn't enough to make you dislike the entire scene though :o

And as for mainstream, well almost anything mainstream is considered wack by people who aren't 14 year old girls?

Aussie hiphop music is actually quite good in my opinion.

All I said is that I don't like the majority of aussie hiphop fans. The types of fans like yourself are in the minority. The majority are as described in my previous post.

Bangs has an excuse, his english skills aren't to good, so he's forgiven, and apart from being off pitch, the movies chorus was kinda catchy, so he's got something there... i'd recommend him picking a different career path tho...lol and i suggest he stop doing the whole "ahuh" shit, sounds like a cheap jadakiss knockoff, and sounds way forced... i'd also suggest he consider different subject matter... although going to the movies, facebook and christmas is something most people relate to... they're not things you make songs about

but that raed guy, damn, he is seriously ****ed up... i can't believe there are people who are willing to be in his video's or who would give up their time to record him dancing and looking like a moron... i guess they don't know how seriously bad he is... and is it just me or is he one emotionally unstable mutha****a?? lol, crying about a chick leaving him in every song... she left me alone at a bbq, who does that? lol... get over it champ
