Dont think that Brisbane would be all that fazed in playing Essendon or Geelong at the G in the prelim given they have to play on the ground the next week to win it anyway.... Having won 3 straight flags on the ground, it's not like they don't travel too well.

That is not the point. The AFL owe that game to the fans in Brisbane just as much as they owe it to Brisbane the football team to play it in Brisbane.

I don't think the AFL cares about the actual players, get real.Let alone the members of the clubs.

Like was said in the paper here today, an old boys club in Melbourne run the AFL.

A side point my sister went into her local Labour member in Melbourne today, they had so many complaints about this issue, they rang Steve Bracks office whilst she was there to see what could be done. THey were told, under no circumstances will the Vic Government intervene, that it was thought the MCC and AFL has it right for Victoria.

I'd say it's fair aslong as it's against a team that was favored by the system before. If you have a look over the years essendon are the team who seem to get home finals when they shouldn't. I think melbourne are the only other team to also get the advantage although i could be wrong. Unfair to penalise a team that never favoured from it as they would want the same treament in the reverse situation.

Yes, one is such a large sample to base such a statement on isn't it?

You missed my point completley. As only essendon and melbourne have had it work in there favour every other team that is forced to play interstate when they are the home team would want to bank a final. So then you end up right where you started except with a different club being owed a home final.

Essendon have once gained a home final when they shouldn't (1996 v WC) the same number as Melbourne (2002 v Ade) and Carlton (1999 v WC). Your statment intimates that Essendon have had more than one home final they should not have and more than any other team, neither of which is true.

Wrong.

What does that have to do with Essendon?

cjwalkley, you can claim back your final and give back your marketing flag maintenance allowance and we'll be sweet. Your salary cap next year will be $3.50. Thanks for coming.
