Hey Guys I have just picked up my ticket I got through the ballot but wanted an extra seat for my son so was able to purchase 2 tickets together so am wanting to sell it to a big footy member. I havent been following this thread so would like regulars to let me know of genuine big footy member who wants a ticket. It is an excellent seat probably better than the 2 I have together. It is level 1, Bay M5 row A seat 10 which puts it directly behind the goals in the front row at the Eastern end of the ground. I only want face value which is $300 but would like it to go to a long time swans supporter like myself. Btw when I spoke to the woman at ticketek she said that one customer came to pick up her tickets from the ballot and got standing room for $355 which I couldn't believe.

@aus16has been pretty desperate. Long join date but not that many posts, still better than just joined members. Would get some proof of him being a swans fan if I were you...

Although that mongrel tricked us, I agree with not being so harsh on all needy ticketless Swans fans - there's been a lot of good that's come out of this thread allowing some true fans to get the chance of tasting that unbelievable live GF atmosphere and experience with their bloods in it - which this thread has helped.

For monetary excuses for no membership, there's also another group I'd understand - interstate Swans (non NSW/Vic) fanatics who can only get to 1 or 2 games a year due to travel costs so a full membership isn't value for money. That said I'm a full blooded Vic-member living in Nth Qld because I was able to afford it & really wanted to have more sway come GF time .. although I'm not filling a seat for those 8-9 free games, money is still going to the club. Mind you, there are cheaper interstate supporter packages for those unable to afford attending games due to travel, but don't include GF ballot entry.

Those fans who aren't members/supporters yet & have or haven't been helped via this thread - start checking out 2013 options now! :

On a slightly relevant note ... except for this Saturday I've only been to one other Swans game this year - round 22 Swans v Hawks!
I went with a Hawks mate and was a top game, but bad end memory. If I could choose a winning game to attend though, I pick this week instead please, ok!?! Thanks in advance footy Gods!!

Seriously, if you don't get tickets, it is still good to watch the footy at a live site, Fed Square/Rising Sun on Raglan.

We were thinking that but in the end we were able to cancel everything and use the money towards the champion dinner next Friday. We were so close, yet so far.. I'll most probably watch the game in town now.

And guys I didn't become a member because I always had 15 mates coming to the game with me. I went to every home game besides one this year so don't assume I'm a one offer. Next year I'll no doubt become a member. All the best getting tickets!

This is a long shot - but I'll give it a go.

I have a ticket to the GF- but I believe it's in a Swans membership area. Yep - I'm a Hawk

In Section Q2 - Great Southern Stand, Top Tier, behind the goals, Punt Rd End.

I'm interested in a SWAP to a more friendly location! I don't want $$$$ I want a SWAP. Please PM me if you are interested

You dont get any more friendly than us mate.....

Haha. I didn't say you were unfriendly....I just don't want to make a goose of myself carrying on when the hawks kick a goal in amongst a sea of red and white!!!

Anyway - it's a long shot, but thought I'd give it a go!

I geuss if the person looking for tickets and the person wanting to help live in the same city they could always meet and take some proof with them like ticket reciepts.

They could also meet just before the game, if they turn up in Hawks gear then they will know but scalping laws could be a problem even though tickets are at cost price.

One risk noone seems to have considered is that some of the people who are still after tickets are scalpers after tickets to sell

Release the goose

Reminds me of another game i think with Collingwood and in the middle of the Collingwood cheer squad was an agressive swans supporter

That's an amazing ticket!! ..and very generous offer!
If there's no genuine Swans takers without a ticket here I'd be happy to buy it and give my current one to charity/offer it off to a Swans fan instead.
A chance to be on Grand final TV!! lol

Now that the swans allocation is used up we should be trying to help out as many swans fans as possible to get to the grand final, whether they were signed up members or not.

The more of us there the better.

Oh man that is such a great seat. Would love it!

Hey im interested in your ticket if its still available. I AM AN HONEST SWANS SUPPORTER, im sure there are some big footy veterans here that can confirm that for you. Thanks.

It sounded like they were mixing bays around the ground. Maybe Q2 is Hawks. But there was someone looking for a switch from Hawks area to Swans a while back I think.

Sellers be very very careful, seek proof they're a real swans fan. We already had an arseh*le Hawthorn supporter do us in.

Can't believe I'm going to say this but I'm getting pretty annoyed with all the new join dates seeking tickets, FFS we aren't a ticketing website or ebay or gumtree.
Easy brother. I'm a long time Swan - but for work reasons I've been an on and off member over the years. For the 05 final, I sponged off an AFL member (a Collingwood diehard - there are good ones). This year I'm just about to fork out over $1000 each for my tickets in the silver AFL members section (nearly triple their face value), basically because we are facing up against one of the biggest clubs in the league. Against WCE it was a lot easier to get tickets. Let's join together and get the Swans home.

the best way of proof would be for me to pick up the ticket from someone if i can finally find one to sell dressed in full swannies gear.

and i could even show photos of me at games, grand final parades, even travelled to melbourne to watch swans carlton a few months ago

Sorry everyone that contacted me. I sold the ticket to a good friend of Ryan O'keefe who is desperate to see Ryan in a Grand final as he was overseas in 2005/06.

With the AFL member reserve tickets, will the people at the gate be asking for proof of membership or anything? As I will be purchasing from another member from this site. Cheers

they are very hard as they get you to sign and if you get caught they lose their membership

Officially, yes they will be checking AFL membership cards (and IDs):

'To enter the stadium on the day of the match, you will require:
>> Your Ticketek ticket to scan for entry into the ground

>> Your 2012 AFL Membership card to verify your membership

>> And photo identification to verify that the membership is yours'

http://aflmembership.com.au/match-information/grand-final/

My understanding is that they can't realistically check everyone entering the AFL members reserve - I'm pretty sure I remember reading a thread on this on the main board...
