hi guys im still trying to organise a ticket, but im honestly not willing to pay 600-700 to scalpers on principle, so if anyone still has a ticket and doesnt want to screw over a big swannies fan on a students budget please pm me

G'day all, as you will notice have been a member for a few years but haven't actually contributed much. I am a deadset Sydney supporter and was there in 2005 and 2006. I am looking for 2 tickets for myself and my old man who turned 60 last week (this would be my gift for him). Happy to pay a fair amount depending on the face value of the ticket (up to $1000 for two if platinum tickets). Can meet in Melbourne anywhere for COD. Would be very grateful and would be another couple of voices cheering on the red and the white! PM me if you have something available, thanks.

Hawk 2011 has posted on the other thread (the general AFL one about tickets) asking someone to swap tickets with him. It is on Page 8, post number 183. I feel like warning people not to swap with him.

No i have already organised to meet up with Bonzaburger at 10:00 am before the game. I am keeping the other ticket for my brother and he is wanting to swap seats.

No malice

and a lot of them leave though, when my other team, the roosters made the final in 2010, there were about 200 new members trying the exact same crap on this forum and it usually goes away the day after

Big footy delivered the goods yesterday. Bought some tickets from a Carlton supporter. A bit pricey, but will be great to be there to see the Swans (hopefully) bring another flag home! Only problem is that I'm down on Level one on the flank near the Hawks cheer squad end. So please, if you're cheering for Sydney, cheer BLOODY loudly so I don't have to listen to their Buddy awful chants all day. Would rioli p*** me off.

Have fun. :thumbsu:

See you next year, when we make the GF again. :p

And while I'm at it, I don't get all the Hawkhate. I've got some great mates that unfortunately happen to barrack for the Hawks. Their fans will almost certainly outnumber ours, but in the end, it's about the cattle, not the holding pen. If we win I'll be overjoyed, as I was when at the MCG in 2005. If not, I'll be gutted, but it will be hard to escape the fact that the best team nearly always takes home the chocolates. Our boys will have to bring their A game to get over the Hawks, regardless of how passionate or loud the fans from either side are.

No problems. The way some of you guys are carrying on, why would a new member want to contribute further on this forum? We're all rooting for the same team - why all the animosity? Something for you to think about.

Take the 5 seconds to read the rest of this thread and you will see why. People pretending to be Swans fans to dupe friendly Swans Members out of tickets that otherwise would of gone to other Swans fans. If you don't understand why that would lead to suspiscion then I can't help you.

It was tongue in cheek. I was just concerned earlier in the thread over the amount of posters signing up to take advantage this thread to scalp tickets and the likes. I got burnt in 05 and i don't think any fan should have to pay more than face value and also perhaps i think the long term posters should get a bit of preference as well. Of course i'd rather you stayed and contributed, i hold no animosity, the more Swans fans the better. :thumbsu:

Agreed. I've paid a lot of money for my tickets. Hope they are fine - no reason to suspect otherwise - however, as I didn't pay up this year or last (due to work reasons) it's one of the only ways to get along to the game. There are people out there profiteering, and they are running an enormous risk (fines of between $8000 and $80000 for selling tickets at unreasonably high prices) but I guess as a Swans fan, there are only so many tickets.

The best way is to pay up your membership. And as far as the bandwagon goes, whenever the Swans get a start like they did this year, there is no better signal to get in there and pay your money, even if, like me, I've only made it to one season game in Sydney and one season game in Melbourne due to work commitments. I went last week, and I'll be there this week with my wife, but if we had both bought memberships this year, we would have got to the game for less than what we've spent on our tickets. So there's no stronger advocate than me to buy a membership, even if only for the selfish reason that you'll make it easier to get to the GF if we make it again next year. Of course there are many good reasons to pay up, and I hope a lot more people do.

I completely see your point of view. However you're missing some context which might make you understand why some posters have been a bit 'paranoid' and rude.

The hawks started a thread on the main board claiming their allocation to GF tickets for members should be split in their favour. Then quite a few hawks posters made fake swans BF accounts in order to hoodwink us into giving them any spare membership barcodes we might have had access to, in order to grab a ticket in the second swans membership ballot.

This board can get a bit cliquey but there is generally some good discussion and I can assure you that any animosity towards 'new swans BF members', in this thread, is soley for the reason outlined above.

I have hawk, carlton, north, essendon friends, and i adore those friends but i really dislike their teams.
