Would love for Barlow to be our next captain. The man bleeds purple. I think he is too humble though and maybe the responsibility of being a captain and leading the team would be too "serious" for a laid back guy like Barlow. For some reason I can't see him delivering inspiring wharfie time speeches the way Pav does. I can see Fyfe doing it some time down the track though.

The fact that Barlow cops the most sprays from the Boss is a badge he wears with pride. It's one of his most endearing features. To expect him to relinquish his role as chief stirrer for a common or garden captaincy is unthinkable and would rightly be seen as a demotion in his eyes.

At the intraclub game earlier this year Mikey B was playing on the 'B' team (against Pav, Sandi, Mundy Fyfe etc) and at the quarter time huddles he was definitely revving the boys up – talking to some of the younger ones and generally being the on-field general.
I think he’d make a great captain when the Great Man retires.

Ross has shown his hand when he answered the question about why he came down to spray Danyle Pearce during the Port game. He said that Danyle is one of his players that respond well to being "challenged." If Mick cops major sprays from the Boss, it's because the Boss knows that Mick will rise to the occasion if the red flag is waved in his face.

He's a psycho-analyst apart from a leader of men, Ross the Boss.

So remind me again who "he's really got"?
the week he got suspended you could see he was frustrated and treading the line. Someone took a kick and as he was kicking it Fyfe absolutely cannoned into his side and laid him out. This week Fyfe was about half a foot from another 2 weeks on the sidelines. Then there was the suspension last year for kicking. He is young and looks a bit soft with that hair but he is anything but. He relishes the contest and will get away with a bit of niggle if he can.
