Pretty disrespectful to a guy who has been through hell and back with this club.

He has been hung out to dry through being monstered by the likes of Plugger, Gherig, Hall, Richo etc, etc.

And now he gets gigs chasing the likes of Cyril Rioli.

I tell you what though matey. He bleeds purple and ALWAYS leaves everything out on the park.

Maybe you should rock on down to training and give him some pointers on the art of spoiling, as you are obviously an expert.

If we had 22 players who gave what he gives, week in and week out, we would have a flag by now.

Not everyone is elite. He is dour and uncomprimising. Yes, he makes some skill errors, but they are normally when we are so far under the pump and the whole backline is floundering.

To label him like that is just ignorant.

I dont believe my opinion is ignorant. Maybe your opinion has a rose coloured tint to it. I have been anti this guy for over 3 years now. Previously he was an attacking defender who had a long (albeit inprecise) kick. He was not overly defensive. In 2010, he missed a fair amount of the year and we looked solid. This year he was back with avengence although has stopped kicking almost entirely meaning his mistakes (particularly turning the ball over with less than a minute left in the quarter) were reduced, such that he was playing in the vein of a Taz or a Presty. The difference between Grover and Taz and Presty is that they don't leak. So your mate doesn't attack and doesn't defend well, has he been a servant to the club? sure ok I'll give you that.

grover is better than you are giving him credit for. he was rarely beaten last year. however with the expected improvement of faulks and anthony i would think groves may eventually lose his spot next year

With everyone fit i don't see a spot in the 22 for him next year. But i thought the same thing heading into this year.

I agree that he will struggle to retain his spot, but for someone to just bag him out like this poster did in his initial post is poor form.

FWIW Grover is an integral part of our defence. If Johnson/Duff/Ibbo et al had just one ounce of the guts/heart/desire that Grover possesses, they would be much better footballers.
