I feel this is worthy of high praise. To get a gong is a mighty effort.

In the Kings Birthday honours last Monday, Barry Capuano received an OAM for his services to football and particularly Essendon.

He played for Essendon between 1959 and 1966, including the 1962 premiership.

Since retiring as a player, he has become a well respected administrator.

From 1973 to 1975 he was a member of the club's committee. From 1981 to 1988 he was Essendon's General Manager.

For many years he has served as President of the EFC Past Players and Officials Association and the members bar in the Windy Hill Social Club is named in his honour.

Congratulations Barry.

Forget the OAM…. He has a bar named after him! My dad would be so proud.
