Caught 3 times tonight by Eagles players trying to bust through, and the gutless umpires wouldnt pay holding the ball. Kerr did a great job bringing the ugly prick to the ground twice tonight and even though Hall didnt dispose of the ball properly, no freekick was paid against him

Good job Paul Roos, your sucking up to Demetriou through press conferences have obviously worked.

BTW, despite Walls constantly talking about the strength of Barry Hall and how fired up he was, Hall did stuff all the whole night. 1 goal is nothing to brag about when you have the umps in your pocket. This bloke will retire by the end of the year. :thumbsu:

do umpires ever pay holing the ball against ANY swans players?

i guess 'prior opportunity' has to take into account the players lack of skill

They actually think in Sydney that he is hard done by. Amazing spin.
The davis goal was a classic. Tried to bust through two tackles, dropped the ball twice. Fended an eagle player in the head with his forearm then threw the ball to Davis for a goal.
Is he still crying about last years GF ????

Brilliant passage of play! Reminded me of Kerr vs Gehrig last year :)

Poor Barry had his pride hurt by it however, putting Kerr down off the ball a few minutes later

Agree. That goal that Davis got should have never been given. Hall was trying to break through a dozen Eagles and didn't dispose of it properly yet still wasn't pinged. Just because he's big and strong doesn't mean he can't be penalised with holding the ball. Umpires need to be aware of this.

Atleast no Swans supporters are denying the ridiculousness of the holding the ball decisions that weren't paid against Barry.

I was actually watching the game with a bunch of people, including a girl who is still coming to grips with the holding the ball rule. She had this to offer...

"I don't understand...isn't it holding the ball when they have a chance to get it away and then drop it?"

Isn't it, Barry?

Isn't it?

ahh no were not joking. Even the commentators noted how in the first half the Eagles foot skills were far superior to the Swans who couldnt hit a target all night.

What game were you watching?

Let's leave Barry alone.
Since the GF last year he has become an irrelevance.
If the umpires feel that he needs some sympathy by not penalising him when he offends or gives him soft ones that is there way of confirming his irrelevance.

And Kerr bounced up straight away, gave him a mouthful, and proceeded to win the game...unlike Big Bad Barry who was having a sulk on the bench when the game was in the balance :thumbsu:

The swans a notorious for their slow starts, this in no way means we are a skilless team.... ffs mate what are you saying about west coast if you can't even convincingly beat us.
