Just to decide a bet I am having with a mate.

How many goals did the great Barry Stoneham kick in 1989 when the team kicked about 500 ????

He played CHF all year and I think he managed less than 20.

Ablett 90 odd
Excell 85 odd
D Cameron 45 odd
Brownless 45 odd

The reason I am asking as he says you can be a great player like Stoneham and not kick many goals from CHF.

Has Geelong ever had a goalkicking CHF???????

I don't know all the figures but the top 2 were:

Ablett 87
Exell 63

I know Stoneham kicked 5 that year at Carrara against the Bears. I would think he probably got about 30 odd. But remember we had Brownless, Lindner, Bairstow, Couch, Hocking, Shane Hamilton etc who all chipped in here and there. Be interested to see the amounts per player.

Yeah, what about Billy Brownless, he more or less played CHF. Fred Flanagan, isn't he in our team of the century at CHF, not to mention he swapped b/w FF and CHY with George Goninon.

89 was Stoneham's 3rd season, and he was already held in higher esteem than our current CHF. i fear Henry has become a little gun-shy since the break.
