Most posts seem to support keeping Bartel if at all possible. That's fair enough. I just can't see the Cats winning a GF without a KP forward. W.C. has done well with limited fwd options but there midfield kicks goals. Judd, Cousins, Kerr, Fletcher, Embley(wing) and even Cox. The cats don't have that goal kicking power in there midfield. Chapman Ablett and now Johnson are reasonable goal kickers but not potent enough on a regular basis. Windows of opportunity to get to a GF don't last long. Hopefully you guys are right and you already have the team to get u there. I know you've won with some big scores, but thats when you've dominated teams and everyone's lining up to kick goals. Teams rarely dominate finals games like that.
IMHO you need the forward now to give you the best opportunity over the next 5yrs.
Good Luck

Our forward line is sufficient, we have probably the best back 6 in the AFL, an excellent midfield which is highly underrated and a very good ruck division (if they can get fit), so as long as H can be solid, Kingsley can keep getting 2 or 3 goals a game and our smalls put in, we have enough. N.Ablett is still another year away from playing good footy, but may surprise this year and get a regular spot. If that happens watch out.
As much as a big power forward would add to our chances, I feel we wouldn't get good value in that he'd be replaced in a few years anyway. Our team is still very young and besides Riccardi, it will be 5 years before anyone retires. When you look at our structure, we're not yet at the stage of West Coast and StKilda as far as experience goes, but in a couple of years we will and that's when N.Ablett will be playing good footy. I think we're doing well to be where we are, but we are going to improve a lot over the next 2-3 years and that's when we're really going to be at our best.
