Massive respect to Jimmy Bartel, a thoroughly deserving winner
Love the way he goes about it, is a real tough and courageous player who is equally adept at getting his hands dirty to extract the ball as he is at the glory play. His magnificent season was overshadowed at times by Ablett's flashy brilliance so it's great that the umpires realized his worth to Geelong's incredible season.
He also proved himself to be a top bloke by showing real class, grace and humility up on the podium - a fine example that not all footy players are arrogant boofheads.
Best of luck to Jimmy and Geelong for the big one this Saturday, I'll be cheering for you
