apparently Basil is in the running to be Lord Mayor of Perth, so we should all heavily support him in his campaign.
He’s a complete nutjob. I’d rather him on TV than anywhere near a position to make decisions that affect the lives of people.

He does this '10 random things he has pondered this week' opinion piece in the paper every Friday seeing as it's owned by Channel 7.
It has been a bit of a joke because he is really with thoughts like why do politicians steal and we need to help the elderly etc. Real Walkley Award winning stuff.
A month or so ago he commented that if he was mayor homeless people need to be taken off the streets as they upset 'Regular people' or some ivory tower bullshit. He was jumped on by a lot of people and Seven West Media took advantage of this pumping his tyres to become mayor.
He's a conservative that's for sure. Not sure if there would be a first lady if he was mayor seeing as Amy is alleged to have ****ed half of Perth in the past few years.

Historically local councils in WA have been apolitical, although there are increasing numbers of party-affiliated candidates. It's never on the ballots though.
82 councils over this way have declared a "climate emergency", despite it being way outside their sphere of expertise or influence. Gives a reasonable idea of the demographic that permeates them nowadays.

Councils are a burdensome layer of government that we could do without.
The Sounding Board podcast did a run on Basil the Mayor back in Oct/Nov. Hutchy pumped Basil up big time saying how prominent he was here in Perth. Just showed how little Craig Hutchison knows about The West.

As much as people hate Baz and I am not a big fan but he played 25 league games for West Perth and was not a bad player. Unfortunately he copped a knee to the throat in a ruck contest courtest of former 1 draft pick Steve Hooper which basically finished his footy career.

He never played a league game I thought. Just a few in the reserves.
As above, he played 25 league games which is a lot more than most.
