haha you guys and your thoughts...its funny to think that you think your idea is better than the coaches.

you guys crack me up.

fans = idiots
coaches = coaches

leave it at that. i will never question our tactics in that manner as i will most likely be way out of my depth.

On Channel 7 today. I thought it was pretty good. I cheered when Baz questioned our handball happy gameplan and how it's frustrating the fans and Woosha didn't look comfortable at all.

:thumbsu:

I guess Woosha should have replied with " Gee Baz why the hell have you got such a big nose" now that would have been hillarious!!!!:D:D

the handball tatic won us a flag in 06 so it aint that bad o and it won us the game agaisnt the lions,

would you rather us boot it to a 2 on one contest???????

or hand ball it around to each other untill a target comes avalable????

if the palyers up the ground worked harder there would be less handballs

that is why you are not a coach and just a fan

its pretty simple really: if you honour the player that has run to back you up with a handpass, then EVERYONE runs and backs up.

and the kicks that do go forward are high effectivness because there has to be a good option for them compared to the player along side.

It hinges on good technique and timing. At times, ours has something ragged and hurried about it. It does not always give the recipient good service.

Dont reduce it, improve it.

I hate fans saying "kick it! kick it!" - its a game plan, its not perfect just yet, but they have to keep at it so they can improve upon it. Its a proven formular - see trophy cabinet with 06 premier written on it.

Once players are fitter and their technique and understanding of the gameplan improves we will be a real force, a sea of blue and gold tearing up the ground with a chain of handballs.

All about holding possession of the ball until you can get the ball to a designated kicker in space who can kick long to the advantage of the forwards inside 50

Braun (6) Hurn (6) Lynch (5) Waters (3) Priddis (4) Cox (3) Fletcher (3) and Rosa (3) were our leading inside 50 players I believe.

Used to be that we would run with the ball to half forward and either create a stop play (where Judd was always a 1 goal a game certainty) or get any type of a mark inside 50 regardless of it being in the corridor or not.

Now the game is to get a mark at half forward and kick to a big forward who can either bring it to ground and create a goal (Waters 2, wirra 2, lecras 2, Braun 1 Hunter 1, Staker 1) or mark it and convert (Seaby 2, Lynch 1, Cox 1, Fletcher 1)

That is a very Geelong 2007 type way of bringing the ball inside 50 and it definitely helped to improve accuracy as we kicked 14.5, mostly in the corridor regardless of the distance but almost always from a central location.

Good observation there LTAM. I cant remember whether it were the fox footy or SEN commmentators who were discussing this during the match but they pointed out that we had changed our gameplan.

We would move the ball quickly by hand until we goto around the 70m/HF mark where this would be our "Launch Pad" to kick it long and direct into F50.

Did Baz try to hand out any advice about how Woosha should use Cox?

"I would know, I used to be a ruckman you know."
