Just finished watching this. I did enjoy. If I can find the early 2000's links to espn docos of Sir Charles, Reggie and Nique I will post. Gives an amazing insight to the players beyond the hardwood.

Nice find....altho obviously digitally altered as Lebron has just made a clutch play int he fourth quarter as i watch it :p

No wait... he missed the game winner, order has been restored ;)

Haha I remember watching that but no recollection of posting that. I need to cut back on the drink!

To me the Jimmy V NC State one on recently was really one of the great basketball docos and sport stories i've ever seen. Still can't believe how they actually pulled off that National Championship. Crazy stuff.

Gunnin for that #1 spot is really good if your into the whole high school/college recruitment scene !

What are some great basketball documentaries that you guys reccomend people to see?
I seen the 30 for 30 episode on Reggie Miller "Winning Time" and just loved it.
The Jodran collection is also great and a must see for any basketball fan, also seen Sir Charles years and years ago but can't seem to track a torrent etc down anymore.

I have heard there is one on LBJs high school team somewhere? Anyone know where i can see it?

The 30:30 doco featuring Vlade Divac is one of the best docos I've ever seen, non-sport ones included.

Most likely been mentioned in the thread, but i watched "Fab 5" a couple of days ago on ESPN.

Chris Webber was such a beast.

Was saying "don't call a TO" under my breath like a crazy person.

I second that Winning Time - Reggie Miller vs the New York Knicks is incredible. Especially as I idolised him growing up.

And without bias - a fascinating look at how drugs affected one of the more talented players from the NBA draft who never played a game.

Hoop Reality is the loosely based sequel of hoop dreams and it is pretty damn cool.
it has Arthur Agee of hoop dreams fame as a mentor to a young Patrick Beverley who is trying to make his way into the league.

the funny thing about this was i remember watching it a couple of years ago and thinking who the hell is Patrick Beverley

nek minnit

really good story, he went to Arkansas as well so agee is in a way living through him.

Saw Bernie and Ernie recently very good
Number of great basketball ones for those who haven't seen.
Hoop Dreams (of course)

Then you get the 30 for 30 stuff:

Survive and Advance
Benji
Unguarded
The Fab Five
Once Brothers
Jordan Rides the Bus
No Crossover: The Trial of Allen Iverson
Guro of Go
Reggie Miller versus the Knicks
Without Bias

Basketball has been treated well by this series

Still gotta see
Wilt Chamberlain: Borscht Belt Bellhop
Silver Reunion

Just saw the 30 for 30 episode "Benji". Really moving and well made :thumbsu:

Classic. I recently caught two contrasting docos. The first was Sam Bowie: Going Big. Really enjoyed it. An insight into the kid (and now man) who is considered a poster child for draft busts. Such a shame he was so crippled by injury - the kid could play.

The second I watched was a horrible puff piece on Amare Stoudemire. Awful.

I concur on Bernie and Ernie. I never realised how good Bernard King was as a player but more importantly his rough upbringing and off court problems which still affect him was hard to stomach.

Just caught the Bad Boy Pistons. The story was great. The direction could have been a bit slicker imo. I reckon guys like Rodman and Isaih deserve their own 30 for 30 stories. Really incredible the run the Bad Boys had.

I started following the Pistons in 87 and loved how hard core they played the game. I've been attempting to watch the 30 for 30 doco but for some reason I have a torrential problem that continuously crashes my pc. Feeling rather ticked off right now.

Bad Boys was excellent...gotta love Laimbeer.

I have really enjoyed touching up on basketball history with both that and the Lakers-Celtics finals flashbacks....
