I know an opinions can't be 'wrong'. But yours is.
:p
Wait until you read my thoughts on the Hoff's Nick Fury tv movie :D
SR was not a bad movie, could have been far better by you know including an actual villain. Lois Lane was severely weak, but the MOS Lois was too (Amy Adams is great but even she can't act her way out of a bad script).

Heads up guys, time to stay away from sites like reddit. Spoilers making the rounds like TFA. Time to go rouge till you get a chance to see it. Or just be very carefull.
That's why I held back on my actual assessment don't want to sway anyone yay or nay by revealing everything I've read since yesterday.

Anyone who rates Superman IV above any movie in the collective film history of the known world is wrong. There is no other outcome. You are wrong.
I enjoy it today as much as I did when I first saw it at the cinema when I was really young :D.
Easily rate it as more enjoyable than Man of Steel and many other comic movies of today (especially the Avengers movies!).

Nah in all seriousness, it did end up being worse than expected. The writing was weak in the critical moments, some things just outright didn't make sense.

Superman vanishing for 5 years to find his planet, when he knows full well it was destroyed. Then just returns on a random ship that he just happened to find.

But the weakest point I found was Luthor. Spacey is a fantastic actor but the writing he had to work with made him seem a less intelligent character than he deserved. What kind of money would he make from selling that radioactive and rugged monstrosity he grew out of the ocean? And who would buy it?

Granted he wouldn't have known what effects the crystals would've had in Earth's oceans, but jesus this is Lex ******* Luthor. The greatest criminal mind. He would've researched his plan in much more depth rather than the hit and hope scheme the movie depicted.

Anyway, could go on and on. The final third is a let down. But up until that, I thought Routh was fine (an uncanny resemblance to Reeve) and the plane/stadium scene is epic. The cheering of his return along with Williams' magnificent original theme is the highlight for me.

Superman returns just felt like a bad rehash of all the Donner films right to Spacey's Luthor being the same as Hackmans Luthor.

Even the plot felt like a combination of the Donner films.

Hats why I like MOS as it was a darker superman with human flaws and struggles .

Just hated the world engine fight...similar feelings to the batman Begins end fight

Both were putrid conclusions to a good film

If I remember correctly, some people were going to get to see the movie a week before the public so given we're essentially 7 days out, I'd expect the spoilers to start coming soon.

There was an interview on Good Morning America IIRC with Eisenberg - had a brief scene as well but the interviewer mentioned she'd seen it but had to sign an NDA (non disclosure agreement). Edit: found it.

Also, I don't really get the people who reckon the trailer has given too much away. Avengers and Ultron, MoS and probably most of the other Marvel flicks (even TDK and TDKR) showed villains in their trailers. If you were realistic, surely no one actually expected Batman or Superman to fight until one was completely beaten and then the movie would end? The hint is in the title, that they would come together to lay the foundations for the JL film. Only way they team up is if a greater threat showed up - and by fighting first, they probably develop a respect for each other too.

I'm just super keen to see so many characters brought to life for the first time on the big screen. Plus, there will surely be a lot of reveals and easter eggs they haven't shown. 7 days to go...hurry up already!! :p

Kryptonite

Read the Dark knight returns ...it even shows in the trailer Bats shooting a kryponite bullet at superman
Pretty sure the sun had been more or less gone for a few days too from memory. Supes would've already been weakened because of that.

Plus the biggest reason - Supes would hold back. Bats wouldn't.

I suppose, I feel they're going to have to write with some real liberties to give Batman a chance, I guess those are the issues with creating a character so powerfull.
Got to remember Bats is a master detective and plans for every conceivable situation. Not to mention this is a war hardened Batman with probably a lot of experience to call upon.

Against Bale's Batman, Supes would destroy him but Batfleck might just give him a contest.

I'd expect it to be maybe 2 thirds of Bats v Supes (probably at least to fights between them) and then the last act to be where they come together and take down a common enemy.

The most significant point is how far Batman will go. A very underrated point, the lengths that he will go in order to win. Superman's weakness is that he knows he can kill him in a fraction of a second.

But he won't.

And Bruce knows that.
