Had some fun last night playing with the BIGFooty 360 platoon.

Gotta say though, Conquest is soooo much easier and less fun than Rush on console.....let me explain. First of all, there was only 3 of us playing together and we won very close to every conquest round that we played, with all 3 of us generally finishing in the top 5 on the scoreboard. It was actually my first time ever playing conquest on BF3 last night (I'm definitely a Rush man) and my first match of it I got MVP. Second match I got 2nd MVP, and I got a few more 1st, 2nd and 3rd's before the night was done too. It really felt like a step down in difficulty from playing Rush mode, which I've played 28 hours worth of since the game's release for a total of two MVP awards, and a couple of 2nds and 3rds.

There's just not enough players on console to play Conquest, bar a few smaller maps, without having to just run around capping, earning easy cheap points along the way. Some rounds I was only finishing with 4-6 kills and still topping the leader board thanks to running around like a mad man getting very easy caps with little to no resistance from the enemy (mainly thanks to them being too spread out among the other flags due to the low number of players per team). It just felt too easy for only the 3 of us to dictate how the game would play out (barring the one or two games on the smaller maps with choke points, which were more enjoyable I've gotta say), just too easy to sneak around the outskirts of the map and get a cheap cap behind the action.

Now granted we were only in the one server for the night so it may have been a different story in another server, but out of the 10-15 games we played last night, I don't think there was one close match - every match ended with one side winning by about 100+ tickets or so. When I play Rush though, I find that almost every match is fairly close, especially now that the M-COMs remain charged even after the defender's tickets have reached zero, until the M-COM is disarmed. Even when your tickets get below 10 and it seems all hope is gone as the Attackers, or that you have the game won as the Defenders, all it takes is a kamikaze style run to arm the M-COM, even if dieing in the process, and the game is back on! Have won and lost many matches like this and I just can't see this level of excitement being reached in a Conquest game when I'm just running around capping, getting the odd kill here or there, before suddenly the game ends without anything of note really ever happening.

Anyway, I'm a "different strokes for different folks" kind of guy, so I get it if your a conquest fan, I guess I'd just highly recommend any console BF3 players to really give Rush mode a go. It can be frustrating as hell when your on a shit squad or team, probably even more so than with Conquest I'd say, but the payoff when both sides start evening up and the games become completely action packed because all 24 players are centralized around the 2 M-COM stations, rather than being spread out around 3 or 4 flags, is certainly worth it.

played with 2 blokes from whirlpool and what a difference it makes playing in a team.

Really enjoyed last night. levelling up pretty quickly. One game I think I had over 10 revives haha. so easy to use and pretty handy with keeping hold of tickets.

I ran medic most of the night and if I was down, one of the other boys would ran accross and swap kits to get me back up and running.

One game last night was epic with only us 3 going for the m cons and the others flying the stupid jets/helicopters. We got the last m-con before they moved with under 10 tickets. 1 with 0 remaining. quite a thrill.

What I have found a good way is for one of us to run Recon first time, plant a spawn point near the objectives and go to town on them as quick as possible.

Good to hear your enjoying it, MAV. It's no doubt a more enjoyable game if you have a mate or two to play with.

Couldn't agree with the bold part more :thumbsu: Same applies when your defending, it saves you re-spawning so far away if the M-COMs get armed.

I only played rush on BC2 and not till the end did i play conquest (after playing nothing but conquest on BC1) Rush is better for the action but ive had nothing but scrub teams so im waiting for MW3 to release so hopefully it clears out the crap players camping for kills instead of rushing the mcoms, then i'll be back all over rush mode.

1st rush game was on kharg island, we didnt get past the first set of mcoms and i was the only player that could get to the mcom and arm it, rage quit after 4 times of arming and dying and seeing my team sitting back doing nothing

Conquest is also good for levelling and you can lone wolf a bit more than you can on rush if your team are useless. Many times i've mvp'd 1st or 2nd despite our team getting destroyed

Yep, that map is a shocker for it sometimes. Too many players on the attacking team too willing to just stay back on the carrier ****ing around with jets and stuff and too many willing to just snipe from the hills on the shoreline. Even when I throw down a Spawn Beacon on that map my squad are normally too busy sniping/flying to bother with it. Meanwhile I keep on re-spawning on it, arming the M-COM, and then dying.

However, with a good team, it's a great map for Rush mode, especially after the first set of M-COMs.

This is true. Like I said, it's almost too easy to sneak around unnoticed, which I guess is a good thing if your team/squad are useless though.

I hate rush.

Too much camping and no tactics involved.

Well you CAN actually flank squads, but nobody does, they seem to prefer to all meet at a choke point and plant their feet and shoot. BORING.

Give me carnage and tactically stealing flags any day.

I understand it seems like theres 'no action' but in a couple of months time the noobs will either be gone or onto COD by then.

Will also add, if you can't fly a ****ing chopper, DONT! Sick of having to suicide because some fool wants to 'learn'. If you really want to learn, sit in the passenger seat with a good pilot.

Also, it helps massively if you are flying with 3rd person camera, and just look through the cockpit when you are lining up a target. AND DONT PANIC!

Also, thanks for the spotting tip guys, my game has improved so much! no longer am I screening a building looking for where my target might have just run off to, at even if he dissapears i can see which way he generally ran. Now if only there was a way to tell EVERYONE about this. NOBODY seems to bother with it, but its drastically improved my scores and kill counts, esp with RPGs.

I get the rest of your post, but I don't agree with this.

Carnage? What carnage? There are 12 players on a team, say only 2 of them are either dicking around or flying jets/choppers (most likely more), that leaves 10 players to fight over at least 3 flags, sometimes 4. That's about 3 players per flag and if there are 4 or more players at one flag, which there quite often is, that leaves 0-2 players at the other flags. Then factor in player's who are just camping and running in between flags and the carnage becomes very scarce from my experience.

And tactically stealing flags? If you call running around the outside of the map to the far flag, basically having a cup of tea and some biscuits while you cap it with no enemies in sight, and then running back to the other end of the map to repeat the process tactical, then yeah, I guess it is :p

Have seriously never had as many problems with a game on PS3 as I have had with this game. It cause's the whole system to lock up and the only way to get it back is to do a hard boot delete the game file play for a few minutes and it does it all over again seriously not worth the effort:mad:

It's the same with the 360
Seemed to run OK today but since i have had the game the whole thing has felt very clunky....even in the menus
Yesterday it froze up and that has never happened before even after massive all night sessions.

God that Wittardation is a douche, he keeps killing me. I wish he would leave me alone so I could continue you smash the rest of his team. Talk about one man army...:p:thumbsu:

I thought I was the only one having this issue of the screen locking up.

3 times in the last day I ranked up, only to then be booted from the server and unable to connect to EA. Then a further 3 or 4 times the game has completely locked up on me and I've had to completely power down my PS3.

Yeah I'm a bit scared to put the disc back in my ps3.

Same has happened for me, I just reset the PS3 and it's all good.

Had this last night.

Had to kill power.

I made a post earlier in the thread. For me it kept freezing on load up. Tried other games and they would freeze too! Factory reset my ps3.

Anyone that doesnt find that funny has no soul, shits hilarious

Yep, funny stuff indeed.

I do a similar thing with the claymores. I set one up near a corner on a Grand Bazaar or Seine Crossing type map, then let an enemy spot me, run back around the corner so they follow me, and then just stand there staring at them as they run around the corner straight into the claymore :D

7 games in a row 1st mvp :D thought i'd stop and let someone else get top :p

Tank whored on the last game, nothing more satisfying than taking out choppers with the cannon :thumbsu: was a good game to end the night

I've played MW3 and theres no way its getting more play time than this. Made that mistake last year with Black Ops and struggled to get back into form when I went back to BC2.
