Assuming the recommended beta specs are close/same as what the final recommendations will be then this looks like it might be actually optimised. I thought maybe it would ask for a beefier CPU for 64 players.

Registrations are open for the Open Beta that's on the next two weekends, nfi about console kiddies but PC players can just request access via Steam (no pre-order required by the look of it)

People with the codes (having an ea account will get you a code) can access it from thursday through sunday. Everyone else is just the the next two weekends. Its up for download on the console stores too.

I like how in the comments recon mains are pretending this is a bad change because they used spawn beacons "tactically for their team" and not to just be a camper with their beacon absolutely useless to anybody but themselves.

I will have to see how this goes. At least that’s the end of snipers camping in the depths of the map like they used to on Golmud.

People will always find new ways to be dumbarses, and I suspect given the highly destructible environment it'll involve kids racing to vehicles and sitting in them all game just trying to flatten the map.

Yeh, I think it's good. Nothing more annoying than to spawn in on a teammate only to find you're in the middle of ****ing nowhere.

I'd be keen on the Beta, but it'd mean I'd have to pick up PS Plus again and I'm not quite ready to bite the bullet on that. Will see if I can get it a bit cheaper between now and its release. Also, annoyingly, this is out the same time as Ghost of Yotei, so decisions will need to be made.

Yeh, but sometimes there aren't any better spawn points.

Servers don't open for around 9 hours and there is already a queue of 47k.

First beta in half a decade right? I remember playing the 2042 beta in 2020/2021, and thought it was trash.
