The whole aim of putting us near the supporters group is to help invigorate that group. Show them some new ideas / chants. Putting us close to them will help with this.

If you read what Kitch wrote in the first post, the club has informed the head of the supporters group about our group and he is very willing to have the bay114 mob there to help increase the crowd noise and participation. Kitch has also had a chat to Darryl as well on a couple of occasions.

I have also had a chat to one of the younger members of the csg after the Hawthorn final and he was very willing to have us involved to shake some life into the supporters group.

For those that can't make it every week, here are some possible solutions?

Why not do what you did last year, buy your ticket for the game and stand behind where the rest of us will be sitting? Yes you won't be as close to the group as you were last year, but the more people and especially spread out from the front of a bay to the back of a bay will be great.

For those that liked being down the northern end, stay there and start chants down that end.

The more people we get involved, the better the atmosphere at home games and isn't that why this movement was started in the first place?

thats a top idea. Could even rig up leader/follow stuff from the back - ie guys at the back be leaders.

personnally, im against it.

As Vic Crow said, what about people that cant get to all the games?

As previously mentioned, id really prefer standing.

I would be asking the club if we can get seats at the back of the bay, behind the cheersquad.

Myself and Dolfy and Zak tried sitting behind the cheersquad for the NAB cup match and belted out a few tunes but we got more laughs than people catching on.

Id ask the club if we can get tickets in any of the back rows - id still be happy if they assigned us bay 114, and when the Crows dont have those seats (ie members are using) we can stand.

My main objection is not being able to stand but there are positives from sitting with the cheersquad, and id have to see about the membership - they are in dads name and he probably wont go by himself.

Wow, thats a terrible post amigo.

Your objection is that you wont be able to stand? That overrides any positives, such as potentially being able to double the amount of people joining in?

Also, i really dont think the experience of you and a few mates trying to start cheers back there is comparable to up to 60 of us chanting back there. We'll make a huge noise without the cheersquad, not be relying on them to carry it.

I also really dislike the attitudes of some people on here. When presented with 'the club is willing to do this for us, and let us skip the membership queue' the response is 'no, those seats arent good enough'. WTF?

Just as a thought, considering there are alot of people who want in, but cant commit to every game, is it worth thinking about getting a few 'group' memberships.

The idea is... say we have a certain number who know they are going to miss x amount of games, have people chip in, and we buy say 5 or 6 season tickets, which people can access on a game to game basis. Gives us a bit of room to move.

I'll be happy to stay involved, it will be interesting to hear the reactions of the people around us. As for skipping the membership queue, like I said already not everyone will be able to commit to spending $200 for a ticket that they probably won't get full use of, like myself.

If the club made some seats available to those people and allowed us to pay our way into those seats through a first-in basis then all the regulars will definitely be interested. Of course failing that, if enough people ended up at the back of the CSG bay then yeah I'll continue to make a nuisance of myself there.

Edit: So yeah, what Southerntakeover said. :D

You misunderstand - although standing is my preference, its not the be all and end all. By having it as my main objectipon shows how i am not terribly fussed what we do - and i am very thankful to the club, i just wanted to know if there was anything that would allow us to stand. Im not going to go staunch and say "im not taking these seats because i dont liek where they are and i cant stand"

Id love to sit behind the guys, because that was the original aim of the group - but another concern is that during the year we didnt want to look too "official" in the sense that we would be outcasting ourselves so that people couldn't just rock up and join in. Just seems to me by sitting in the heart of the bay, we dont allow people to do that.

A joint bay membership would be great, but i dont think it would work. If it does, it will be terriffic for guys like dolfy - but i cant see it working.

That's a good point. I thought one of the main intentions of the group was to be as inclusive as possible. While the noise will carry I did like it that randoms could come up and stand with us at the back of the bay.

So did i, but at the same time, realistically we never got 50 odd randoms joining us. If we could get the cheersquad firing, this could provide similiar.

I dunno...I'm pretty convinced that this sort of thing would send a rocket up the cheer squad. They would lift. ;)

I agree. Just what the doctor ordered......

A big rush of ADRENALIN strait into the heart of the Cheer squad.

I have a potential 5 new members and 4 from the Northern stand. All ready to pay and fire the **** up.

When ya ready AFC.....:thumbsu:

If we can get them firing... and if they can be bothered firing.

From past experience, that's like getting a leopard to change its spots!

60 of us will have a far bigger impact than you and a few mates.

That, and we've already had most of last year to work out what chants are likely to fire crowds not used to us up.

More 'Come on you crows', and 'Adelaide is wonderful', and less disco might get a better response. :p

:D

We saw how loud the cheersquad could be near the end of the season, so i think we did our job.

As said, i wont mind either way the group goes.
