Yeah, just saw that, congrats for the young fella, besides Khan whose gone and Manou whose a keeper first and foremost, he and Klinger have been our only real consistent specialist batsmen.

Maybe the door Cosgrove needs opened? Maybe the opertunity Jake Brown needs to be given... Probably the spot Cooper will take...

Hey what happened to Delmount?

And Cosgrove returns to the State team with a century against Queensland.

Deja Vu anyone?

He's still an overweight slacker who parties instead of training, it's just sad that, even in that condition, we don't have anyone better than him to play instead and prove the point while winning at the same time.

Well we have but hes playing for Australia :p

See this is it with me, he HASNT lost alot of weight and he HASNT improved his attitude, or maybe its still ok for him to be out at 4am all the time. Now I know theres been plenty of overweight guys play test cricket so that is less of an issue but he still needs to pull his head in.

That said, id like to see us give him another contract next season.

Well we SOMEHOW ended up with the win against Queensland.

The Bulls lost their last 5 wickets for 36 runs and we won the game by 19 runs. Absolutely no-idea how that was done. But wow. They got there!

Snake took 4/ and Bails 3/ to wrap it up in grand style.

It took Bailey a while to get going in the second dig but he did what leggys are supposed to do on the final day of a match.

Haberfield has also been very impressive. Not sure why he was 'rested' throughout the middle of the innings but he looks to have a bright future.

Really pleased to see Bailey do well, has the talent, but a 5 for and 3 for on return is pretty bloody good, especially when they were 3 extremely important wickets. If he keeps that up a Baggy Green won't be far off you'd think, given the quality (or lack there of) of the competition.

Oh and good to see Cosi back in, when he's in form, we're a much stronger side, is such a talent, a real shame that he hasn't been able to capitalise properly on it.

Cossie was out for 133 and the next Australian keeper is 96* at lunch.

5/431 is a half decent start...

Are you for real? Next Australian keeper? I'm not sure, he is a bit of a hack to be honest. Needs to keep showing more. I guess if Haddin had a poor test series in SA Manou should go to England as the second keeper.

anyone else at last nights yawn?

what were QLD doing? there must have been some sort of tactic involved? Playing out a maiden off Dan Christian in the 41st Over? They were bowling hand grenades!

They had a home final on the line too and that would have been a 95% chance of getting washed out so they would have won it then surely.

Unless CA asked them to lose so they could have a game go ahead.

We did well to finish 3rd though, pity it's not like the Twenty20 with a top 3 finals series.

Agree, there's some encouraging signs for next season.

Don't we say that every year?

Disappointing to see the redbacks do their usual win when the pressures off last night. Why can't we show this throughout the year?

Yeah, I guess, but the good thing this year, was that it wasn't the batters who were the problem, with the addition of Klinger and a couple of others, we had far fewer "collapses" at vital moments. Or more to the point we weren't relying on Dizzy Gilespie and the rest of our tail to build us a decent total.

The bowling let us down at stages more so than anything else, but we have a number of talent youngsters coming through and we only need one of Cullen or Bailey to step up as a spinner and we should be okay. But then, as you say, with this side, nothing is ever a certainty.

Cooper
Harris
Klinger
Ferguson
Cosgrove
Manou
Christian
Bailey
Habberfield
George
Tait

That team could be a very hard team to beat next year if Baileys form wasnt a one off, Cossie gets back close to his best and the two young pacemen continue to develop (i really like the look of George). I know theres a few ifs there.

Cooper, Ferg and Klinger have a real chance at a baggy green in their carrer. Manou is probably now Australias back up to Haddin. Theres a bit more than usual to look forward to next year imo
