That would have to have been one of the most exciting Shield matches of all time. How many times did the momentum change in that match?

It seemed like everytime I checked the scores the other team had miraculously got their nose back in front.

Sensational stuff ... left the mundane Test for dead. We would give NZ a towelling!!!

An average of 375 runs scored per day and just about 40 wickets for the match.

This will brings back crowds to shield cricket in the tens.

What a great win. Massive morale and confidence booster for the team. Nothing like a win on the road to bring a group of players together.

On another note, apparently Rofe lost the plot when he was bowling in the second innings and has got the yips. Bowled one ball over Manou's head on the full (...) and another wide that missed the pitch altogether. Manou couldn't bowl him. He had two spells of one over each.

I think Cleary is fit again so at least we have some cover.

Christian is QUALITY, why the heck isn't he playing every single game? He's one of my favourites.

Bowling probably not dangerous enough to be considered a regular top 3 seamer, and you don't want to play in Adelaide without a spinner.

Probably means him and O'Brien are battling for the allrounder's spot which O'Brien seems to be holding reasonably well.

Should definitely be in the one day team all the time though.

Was it a co-incidence that a massive smiley face appeared in the sky just hours after the redbacks win their first outright shield game in over 12 months? I think not.

It's a shame because the Shield comp is certainly more competitive and a better standard than the overall standard of Test cricket at the moment.

Don't be fooled tho, the majority of Aussie crowds enjoy a quick and easy kill far more than a challenge (which equals hours of watching players they don't know bat and us not taking wickets).

Watson will take 10 for and score a double century if he takes that form in to the next Test.

In the one dayer, the redbacks were 3/182 but in typical redbacks fashion, have collapsed and are now 7/183 .. losing 4/1 in 2 overs with 3 run outs. :)

And just to rub salt into the wound, Wise gets bowled for a golden.

All out for 205, losing 7/22 in the end.

One of our best performances to one of our worst in the space of 2 days.

Seriously, who the **** gets to 182 with 7 wickets left and is all out for 205? Honestly? What the ****?

Tait's our only hope now.

Luckily for us they stacked the batting this match.

looks like I need to go get some humble pie after having a crack at saca for picking christiansen and O'Brien.

oh when will I learn.

I think there is room in our side for christansen, his batting at 6,7 or 8 is handy and he is a honest fielder, O'Brien is a handy batter at 9 and a better bowling option than cullen's imo!

Sure we folded like an origami expert but our score was still good in comparison to those being racked up in the shield match between Tas and NSW!

Convincingly bottom of the Ford Ranger Cup ladder we are now tho. Do they actually award wooden spoons? They are not to be sneezed at, very useful in a culinary environment.

a few changes being made for the one day game being played Wednesday night for everyone's favourite team:

Allan Wise and Ice Cleary are making way for a few fresh faces - Jake 'the Snake' Haberfield to make his debut for the Redbacks, and one making a long awaited return - and been in brilliant form for Port Adelaide this season - Matthew Weeks - who has only bowled 3 no-balls this season and is yet to be warned for entering the protected area on the pitch -fixing many problems he has had in the last few seasons.

Should be a good game against Tasmania - hope to see you all there!

Klinger with 775 runs in the Sheffield Shield and 363 runs in the One Dayers has scored 1138 runs for South Australia before Christmas with a one dayer and four dayer to go!

Any chance on the 1000 first class runs before xmas?
